Bad news is, the version I've got is a 'post' post tampered-with copy (after I posted it, I got less happy with it, screwed 'round with it and basically messed it up some more!).
Anyone happen to have the version I posted here? If so, could you mail it to fection(at)hotmail(dot)com?

While looking for 'Model Citizen' I DID happen across a lot of nice encouragement, which has put me in a creative mood. I've had a story/picture on the go for the last wee while, so I'll see about getting them finished shortly.
I have another idea for a 'part one' Candy story too, but I'm guessing that one's a while away yet.

I might tinker with that one and post a newer (hopefully improved!) version (and keep the original this time as a 'safety'!).
I think the malfunction happens a bit too easily. It's unlikely a programming conflict would make an android's components heat up and melt down, for example! It would probably at worst just cause erratic behaviour.
Anyway - enough of the nerdiness!
