Well if you play the demo (currently available on the PS4) you do get to see her male counterpart beat up and in a few pieces malfunctioning

Acording to some Twitter friends, the author "Taro Yoko" tend to let characters "die".

Beside there is an characer in NieR:Automata called A2 and she has a lot of seams at her body.
Not sure if A2 is an ally or an enemy....
