It's funny I just started watching Busou Shinki a few days ago.

Re: Frame Arms girls
The first three chapters are out now. The maybe 8" tall Frame Arms Girls are very ecchi and the third episode throws in a good deal of hentai plus some girl on girl Yuri with two new models. But, they come off very robot in a number of ways. Recharging their batteries is common. Complaining about their owner Aoi not being very good at assembling them, etc.

I get the impression that the whole series is designed to sell models in Japan of the characters in the anime. There just seems to be a lot of "product" feel in some of it.
