Battlestar Galactica series. What's up?

Post by noidguy » Wed Mar 03, 2004 10:33 am

I finally took the time to watch the new BSG movie/series/whatever. What I viewed was two avi files that lasted a total of about 3 hours. It ended with the parade of No. 6's and a couple other human-looking cylons - one of which is the big teaser at the end.

So what happens next? How much more BSG is there? I have not checked into the details, thinking someone here would know all the particulars.

Help?

This is pure speculation, but my bet is they spent the money to do the miniseries and test the water. They do a better-than-average homage to the original, see what sort of feedback they get, find out whether it's worth making the effort to track down sponsors for a regular series. If they get poor feedback, it's an open-ended one-shot for the TV trivia history books. If it's moderate feedback and they can't get the dough to do a regular series, they produce a miniseries one a year to continue the story.

If they could just stop producing movies about giant animals/insects attacking from outerspace/the frozen wilds/the deep dark jungle, maybe they could afford to do a proper BG series.
