We think there is a fundamental misconception about piracy. Piracy is almost always a service problem and not a pricing problem. I saw the premier, and I was not exactly blown away, BUT I was pretty pleased with it. I think the show seems super promising at this point.

One thing I thought was really cool about the show, was that they seem to be strongly hinting at the possibility that it is actually a SEQUEL to the original movie. The "30 Years since the last critical failure" references, and the fact that the cold storage where they house the decommissioned androids seems to be in the old DELOS lobby (that may have gone to shit right after the events of the original Westworld) has everyone on the Internet thinking the original Westworld movie may actually be part of this shows cannon.

HBO has posted another "making of " video on Facebook. In the middle of the clip there are new scenes that definitively show the mechanical nature of at least some of the hosts. No females, sorry. Still find the discrepancy between these and the 3d printed skeletons interesting.

Only thing I can think of is generations. Meaning, the older Hosts are more mechanical, whereas the latest and greatest models are 3D Printed.

After watching the first two episodes, I'm fairly convinced there will be flashback episodes, or at least extended scenes, that will fill in certain characters back stories. Through these we'll learn the history of Delos, the park, and the evolution of the technology that makes it all possible.

There's a theory floating around elsewhere that we've already seen flashbacks. As in, William is Ed Harris.

Holy shit... That theory fits in nicely with another Theory that I read, whish posits the very real possibility that Ed Harris' man in black is actually The Richard Benjamin character in the original Westworld movie. Meaning that he was there for the first time the robots ran amok (the previous "critical failure"), and that as part of What I imagine must've been a sizeable settlement from the Corp. that ran Delos, he was given a lifetime pass to Delos with free reign to terrorize as many androids as he wanted.

Even though there's not a large amount of exposed mechanics, I'm still pretty hooked on all the meta-textual layers the story seems to have.

I remember the Head of Security being told something by an operations guy, to the effect that The Man in Black was laying waste to too many androids that day, asking whether or not they should do something to slow down his murder spree, and I remember the Head of Security responding with "Nah. That man can get anything he wants".

This means he's either the Richard Benjamin analogue I mentioned (likely) or Dr. Ford's former partner (less likely)

Agreed, but there is clearly evidence of earlier, more mechanical hosts out there. So there's some hope to see at least a hint of what they used to be.

Not to mention guests would basically be interacting with hosts made of raw meat which is a pathogenic nightmare–hence why we use inert materials like plastic and metal. Duh. :facepalm:

Well in episode 2 it's already mentioned that Maeve had contracted a MRSA infection from one of the guest, so they seem to be about as close to raw meat as you're gonna get.

Well this actually squashes my interest in watching the show completely. If there are any nice scenes involving actual robots, I'll check those out, but I have no interest in the Western genre, dramas, TV, or even fiction, so finding this out is quite a buzzkill for me personally.

The revelation by the fx team seems a little spoilery, if you buy the theory (that I just made up) that the endgame for The corporation that runs the park is actually to field test organic full body replacements for humans in order to cheat death.
