FILM + MANGA > San Diego Comicon - Battle Angel Alita

Post by dudemqnguy » Mon Aug 05, 2002 11:16 am

In a panel discussion at this year's San Diego Comicon, James Cameron mentioned that Battle Angel Alita is at the top of his short-list of movies to make next. He said that he would direct it in the next two or three years.

This film has been the center of speculation for a good while now - So much so that I was beginning to doubt it would happen. Maybe now we'll get to actually see some progress.

My source for this info was Ain't It Cool News. Not the most reliable, but then again, it was witnessed by a huge roomfull of sweaty fanboy dweebs.

Interesting. I had heard that he only bought the rights to BAA so he could use elements of it for his Dark Angel series. Perhaps with that series gone flop he will turn his attention to the real BAA.
