Are you refering to the episode when Carol and Vicki dress up as androids? I didn't realize that skit had a title...

If not, what are you refering to?

Thanks

"She sounds like the beginning to 'Wagon Train'"

I gotta admit, Vicki Lawrence was a stealth hottie. And the outfit she wore in that scene was great, and she pulled off some great expressions, very freezeframe worthy.

Hey.
It had to be said, but somebody wouldn't care to make some screen caps for us UK based people, would they? Never seen the skit in question, and by all accounts Vicky Lawrence (is/was?) a bit of a looker, yeah? Also (forgive my ignorance, but) what DOES the beginning of 'wagon train' sound like? I'm guessing a wagon train.

Wagon Train always started with the star of the show (Ward Bond I think his name was), on a horse calling out "Wagons.......Ho!!!"

I seem to know FAR too much about TV

Yeah, it came on around 8:20 and went to the end of the show.

Seriously, Vicki Lawrence is not "hot" as in supermodel or anything. She's just a reasonably attractive woman with plenty of comedic talent. Nor is her android impersonation all that great ... I'd say this is for nostalgia buffs and completists only.

The "Wagon Train" joke -- probably obscure even thirty years ago -- was obviously an ad-lib joke by the guest star (forget his name ... Charles Byner?) designed to make the cast laugh on-stage. It worked ... so the funniest thing about the skit is watching the actors try to remain serious.

Yep....JOHN BYNER was, and still IS a fine IMPROVISATIONAL comedian ....and damn fine impressionist..... he was on the Carol Burnett Show many times, subbing for TIM CONWAY.....Tim was never a permanent cast member until the series was half over really....he just guested alot.... and John Byner did his best in his fill in days.... ---minkwheel

I'm sure many of you are already aware of this but for the newcomers,
John Byner's Showtime show "Bizare" wich aired many years ago featured a great robot sketch.

John enters an invention competition with a fancy blender he has created.
One of the other contestants has entered a sexy female robot.
John discovers that his blender can override the robots remote control and he takes control of her.
A funny sketch with some decent robotic movements and blank facial expresions.

If anyone has a copy of this Byner sketch, I am actively looking for it. I'd be happy to set up a trade or throw a few bucks at the owner for it.

Thanks

That also goes for us who cut their cable t.v. service off too soon. Please, something for the scans and screen gallery.
