Inspired by the movie Larry Gaye: Renegade Male Flight Attendant. Interestingly enough, when her husband, Jerry O'Connell worked on the TV show Sliders, there was a robot themed episode from the third season entitled "State of the ART" (which guest starred Robert "Freddy Krueger" Englund as the "villain of the week").

The deactivation part is at the 1:20:26 mark.
