Well, saw it today. Mild spoilers.

It's a shame: Christina Cole is actually in a lot of scenes (and there are numerous scenes with other fembots) and delivers at least a dozen lines, but I don't even think that her "character's" name is said at any point during the movie! The other actors (I can't even say "characters") who make up the AEGIS crew are similarly wasted: the film effectively has no "supporting cast," as all the time that should have gone into making them memorable was spent on stupid (and I mean really stupid) exposition, or endless pointless CGI action sequences.

For those who've seen the movie, just compare 'Gemma Chatterjee' here (or the elephant man, or the guy with the glowing face studs at back in the photo above) with any of the Crew from the Nebuchadnezzar in "The Matrix". And even that was a huge step down from, say, the Marines on the Sulaco in "Aliens." I guess the assumption now is that the audience's attention span is so short that the writers can't be bothered with actual characters!

So like I said, it's a shame. If this had been a real character, it's the kind I would have really dug in a decent sci-fi novel, even as a minor sidenote (If I can make a recommendation: there's a character like this in China Mieville's novel "Embassytown", and it's done magnificently). As it stands, though, the movie wasn't entirely worthless, either in regard to Ms. Cole's role or otherwise.
