Yeah - even the most critical reviews so far are pretty great. And it's getting the director signed on to some of the most exciting sci fi projects coming down the pike.

Almost ponied up tickets to SXSW just to see the US premiere... Guess I'll be patient.

I'm sure I'll bite and torrent it - but folks, this was an arguably indie passion project (relatively low budget, even though it has top-tier talent working on it) - do be sure to support it financially as well - and send a signal to the studios that thoughtful scifi (particularly featuring robots as a topic) are things we're hungry to see.

Is it scheduled for a wide release in the US? Or is this just a limited, indie-theater only kinda deal?

It will premiere at South by Southwest, then a standard theatrical release in April. No word as to how wide a release, but with press like this, I'd guess most cities will get it eventually.

Another positive review at Cinema Parrot Disco (little to nothing about fembot content, though).

In Korea, the theater was over already opened.

However, the streaming service over the Internet not start using it several times seen again. The shares can also be downloaded and viewed it is not. Because this method is not distributed with DRM.

ps. oh god... screen capture disable... FU** DRM!!

I just saw in the latest trailer that it's rated R for "graphic nudity, language, sexual references, and some violence." Graphic nudity: hooray. (I feel like I'm 18 again saying that ...)

Based on what I've read on the Wikipedia page, we at least get to see the Japanese android, Kimiko, naked.

That's EXACTLY how I feel about that.

Sidenote: I thought It was going to be awkward just going to the cinema to watch this with friends, but now that I've (very recently) started seeing someone, that post-movie-date conversation about Ex-Machina might be double-plus-awkward (Or not! I hope...).

I was at the theatre to see CHAPPiE tonight. There were displays for Ex-Machina in the lobby. So it looks like it might be in some theatres this year.
