Couple finds:

LOVBOT LOVE: Korean short film about a non-Korean speaking man who buys himself a Korean love robot, resulting in a little confusion with commands. "And most important of all...She will love dancing K-Pop for you!"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QPFkx0LbFhE

Reflections: An romantic short film about a guy who loves a robot. He's a nerdy guy that doesn't have good luck with women, so he buys a robot woman, but then feels the need to make himself over to match up with the beautiful robot; she has other ideas.

I've seen Lovbot Love before. I felt it was JUST a bit too rushed. I find myself saying 'where's the gynoid' and it just the guy for at least a quarter film. So IF you want to skip past all the gawking the guy does go to at least the 4:00 mark. Otherwise view at your own risk and pack your patience.

Reflections from what I seen its a far stronger story. The exact opposite of Lovbot Love if you are pressed for time and if you have to choose one. Reflections is your far stronger bet. :) Yes a bit short but still...
Sometimes you just gotta look at the Bryte side!

I'm not sure why they'd give away the fact that the guy testing the android is actually an android as well. Unless the twist actually goes deeper than that.

Since its by the same guy that did Sunshine, I am expecting it to go a bit deeper, I thought Sunshine was some great sci fi. Don't be surprised if there's a bit of a mind trip somewhere in there. My guess is no sex, but the effect and the fembot(s) are great to look at and should be some decent sci fi plot.

Thanks for this! The international trailer shows a lot more... Posted a ton of screencaps in the wiki. I was going to try to create a page for Ex Machina on there with the gallery and all, but I'm afraid I'll just screw up the wiki. I'll leave it to more capable hands, if anyone is willing.

But seriously ,i think they both have the same fetish as us, only difference is that THEY are the robot and not the master in the relationship.

WOW! They really are great! That was one of the hottest mannequin/robot dances I've ever seen. So they clearly aren't dependent on SFX and editing, they do live very, very well.

Seeing this, I wonder if a full-blown, modern day "young" android centric sitcom (and when I say "modern", less "cheesy" and more sophisticated than say Small Wonder ) could work? I mean, I'm kind of surprised that Disney Channel (think a sitcom variant of the old Not Quite Human TV movies that they aired back in the late '80s-early '90s) hasn't tried anything like that yet.

I like it would be a pretty good idea. I'm sure getting some actor or actress to play 2 robotic teens in a school tying to fit in with humans would not be a bad idea for a show.

Yes, that's true. But, if the male android is married to a female android, then chances are that she looks 18. I mean, you can't have underage marriage, especially with robots.

In some countries you can marry someone when under 18 if your parents sign off on it.

Indeed. And that's my point, on that episode.
Still, though... It was pretty good. I didn't get it... until now.

"Sherry 3000"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YYpI8847naw

You guys are going to love this! This long video starts with a nice-looking gal explaining the merits of the "Sherry 3000" android series (she is identical to the display models) as an alternative to a human labor force. After that, one of these androids talks to you in your "cryo-bed" for, like, half an hour. I haven't watched the whole thing, so I can't say any more. But it more than warrants mention here on the board.

To be honest, the only good part was the commercial intro.
