A Conundrum [Not a story, and not Virus Alert]
I'm still writing. Bits and pieces of the soon-to-be-forthcoming Virus Alert episode Long Lost have already been bouncing around the proofreading stage. It's coming along, but it's also covering a lot of territory. Even at a brisk pace, this may take a while to finish writing.
So I've started digging through my archives of old things I wrote, but never posted. Just because I'm not finished with my current undertaking doesn't mean I can't give the audience something to look at from time to time.
This brings me to my conundrum: There's one story in particular that I'd like to post, but it's the direct sequel to someone else's unfinished story. I tend to view story worlds as a personal thing, so I'm reluctant to publicly release it without the approval of the author of the original short which inspired me. I've contacted this person via PM, but our messaging system here says they haven't even read it. In fact, their profile page says they haven't logged in for more than two weeks.
Which means, if you match these criteria:
* Author (even if you no longer actively write).
* Haven't logged in for more than a week, instead browsing anonymously or otherwise taking a hiatus.
* Ever released a short which was going to be the first in a series, but the series never happened.
Please login and check your mail. You may have a message waiting for you.

Not me! But - for what it's worth, if it was me I'd say yes.
WW, if you or anyone feels like finishing one of my own many unfinished stories you are very welcome. Sometimes I get too lazy to finish or the inspiration goes cold and I move on to something new despite the best of intentions!
As for this one - I hope you get permission and I look forward to reading the result!

Now you mention it, I'm pretty sure I did do a continuation of one of your stories back in the days of yore. Can't find it at the moment tho. It's probably on another hard drive. I'll try to dig it out when I get a chance.BA2 wrote:Not me! But - for what it's worth, if it was me I'd say yes.

Perhaps it was coincidence, perhaps it was this discussion thread, but I received a response from The Liar, granting me permission to post my follow-up to the incomplete story in question. I'll post it later today, and let it be a surprise which story I continued.BA2 wrote:As for this one - I hope you get permission and I look forward to reading the result!

Agh, just got here, and it's not me! That's a slight blow to the old ego. Would it be too egotistical, then, to provide a future reference? Because the answer would be "Yes, of course, please do!"

Have been on hiatus for a while actually, so I may have missed something. Did I miss something?

I find it's best to login from time to time regardless. If nothing else, the "view new posts" feature is nice.Karel wrote:Agh, just got here, and it's not me! That's a slight blow to the old ego.
