Robots Could Be Having Sex For Reproduction With Humans

Scientists Predict Robots Could Be Having Sex For Reproduction With Humans In As Little As 30 Years

Your future girlfriend might be missing a few things we now consider essential in a relationship… such as a heartbeat, for instance.

Though it reads like an outrageous erotic fantasy spawned from the disturbed mind of a science fiction nerd, a top artificial intelligence engineer insists that robots might begin having sex — with other robots and humans alike — within 30 years.

The cybernetics expert George Zarkadakis, who works as both a novelist and engineer, believes that the robots could begin having sex with one another for the purpose of producing superior offspring, and could in fact mate with humans as a means of producing a hybrid species.

It has been suggested that these offspring might be “printed off” using technologies similar to those that we see in today’s 3D printers.

“Perhaps cyborgs of the future may involve human participation in robot sexual reproduction and the creation of new, hybrid species,” said Zarkadakis in an article he penned for The Telegraph.

While pleasure might be the key driver motivating human sexual liaisons, Zarkadakis believes that robots will shack up for more practical purposes.

He suggests that sex between robots could provide the opportunity for the machines to breed enhanced intelligence by swapping software and code in the form of a superior offspring.

Additionally, sex between the robots could prove a valuable method of defense against computer viruses, just as sex between humans is helpful in defending against parasitical attacks.

Mating robots is one thing, but human to robot pairings?

“This is not science fiction,” said Professor Kevin Warwick from the University of Reading and the Institution of Engineering and Technology in the United Kingdom.

He says that robots with brains that mix biological and technological parts are already in existence, adding that “just about anything is possible.”

While he doesn’t necessarily believe that humans and robots will be shacking up tomorrow, Warwick believes that the theoretical scenario could come to fruition someday. A scenario that he considers frightening.

“We have to start thinking about it and the ethical and social consequences,” said Warwick.

Regardless of the ethical implications, you might find yourself at a bar in the near future buying drinks for some perspective mates while purchasing an oil change for others.

it is possible

Well...it has no biological basis.
and there is no point in reproduce an immortal "thing" that doesn't even have DNA.
but it would be cool to have a girfriend with a 3d printer vagina.
endless possibilities

Hmm... too many possibilities... of course, she might end up a shi, or even a he, depending on what you want.
