The name of the play is "Comic Potential". It seems to be making it's rounds at U.S. colleges and has been around London. It is about a man who falls in love with a malfunctioning actroid (actress android).

I have heard of it, and have run across websites that mention it from time to time. Amazon has the book (or script) for sale, as does Barnes and Noble. A local library might have it, also. Think I'll look around this weekend.

The play ran on OFF BROADWAY in New York City for around 6 months, and got pretty decent reviews.....especially for the comic timing of the main ACTRESS/ACTOID.....by the time I could get tickets, the show was history, but IS touring in smaller venues....so I am glad that it's making the rounds.......critics say that the first act is the better of the two, and the ending isn't all that original, but the play IS a nice distraction for ASFRians who can't get tickets to THE LION KING. --minkwheel

Yes!
I have seen this play.
About three years ago. The woman playing the part was brilliant - though her voice was a little off putting (not to be TOO picky!). Kind of shrill.
There's a scene where she malfunctions while listing off all of the 'lines' she's said featuring the word 'love'. Not particularly original having an automaton confused by emotions, but hey, she was kinda cute.
