Might I recommend Paint.Net? More powerful than MS Paint, with a MUCH friendlier and less arcane UI than GIMP. It doesn't quite have all the features of the latter, but will still do a lot of it, like layering, format conversion, effects, recolouring, and there are plugins to expand its capabilities. It might be just what you're after.

played about with Irfanview and re-uploaded my last two with new piccies, trying out paint.net now.

I'm glad it works for you. I use it a lot myself, especially when tweaking things for my Skyrim mods, since it can handle .dds game textures natively.

Just been finishing touching up/redoing all my old stuff so yeah have a little lookies if you want. Also a bit more 56K friendly!

Edit: Fifteen, yes fifteen manips up in my gallery. Plus attempting to have a little witty comment under each one. So yeah: Enjoy! :D

So yeah I ended up commissioning Nathan/MCTek. He asked if he could do a slight redesign and I said sure. Because i'm weird.
