A better understand of technosexuality...
Hi. I'm a writer, and I'm currently working on a somewhat undetermined project about technosexuality, the communities within it, it's history (from Pygmalionism to Usenet to FC and beyond) and what I'd really like to do is portray it as accurately as possible. I've seen your criticisms and responses to pieces written about the community, and I'm hoping to avert problems like that by maintaining a open communication with the actual community. I want this to not only ultimately be something that I can be proud of but that you can feel accurately reflects technosexuality.
Now, I'm not technosexual myself – though I am quite sex-positive in general – so I'll have A LOT of questions. Many of them will probably seem pretty dumb to your ears. So, I'm hoping that you'll tolerate me popping onto the forums from time to time seeking clarification and posing questions. And if anybody thinks they might be interested in being interviewed (via PM, IM, email or phone), that'd be awesome. You can maintain whatever level of anonymity suits you. And if you're not interested, well, that's fine, too. You won't be bothered by me at all.
I'm happy to talk with more candor in PMs. So, feel free to write to me there if you'd like to know more about me and/or my project.
Thanks!

Re: A better understand of technosexuality...
I'm happy to talk, if you want to, but any questions on the actual sexual side of it would be wasted on me. Like any good, unprogrammed fembot, I'm totally switched off to sex, just of no interest to me.
But if you have anything to ask about the transformation to fembot side of the desire, I might make a good contact.

I'm just a 'girl' who wants to become a fembot whats wrong with that?

Thanks, Robotman and Stephaniebot. Wrapping my head around (and representing) all the different ways of viewing technosexuality is going to be one of my biggest challenges. I'll definitely be hitting you both up with some questions soon enough. I appreciate your openness.

You might want to back up your start date to 1817 and Olimpia in Tales of Hoffmann, or 1870 with the play based on Hoffmann's story Coppelia, or The Future Eve 1886.ddcswr wrote:it's history (from Pygmalionism to Usenet to FC and beyond
You can't get to Metropolis (German, 1927) without those and the 1920 play R.U.R.

Thanks, Dale. I'll definitely do my homework before going too far into this. This is very helpful. There sure is a lot to digest. Anything else you think I need to absorb, just let me know. Thanks!

Consider picking up this 22 year old paperback of essays at Amazon for the price of shipping.

"The Ideal Hadaly" gives a thorough description of "The Future Eve" and the 19th century beginnings of public exploration of female, sexual robot themes.

Thanks, Kishin. I'll do just that as questions arise. (And great avatar, btw.)

Just wanted to add, I chatted to him yesterday by Messenger, got a good reception, asked lots of sensible questions. So if anyone is looking for an OK before talking to him, I'm offering it.

If you want, hit me up by PM. I'm among a few who "came out" and use my real name.

If only I'd known that in April, was in Rochester then. I assumed people wouldn't want outing, so didn't shout the fact

Re: A better understand of technosexuality...
Oh, wow! I haven't had a chance to stop by the boards all this week, so I haven't seen these messages. I would absolutely love to chat with all of you, and I promise to hit each and every one of you up. My conversation with Stephaniebot was delightful – we even ended up chatting about random off-topic stuff for a good portion of it. (BTW, thanks for the recommendation, SB. I appreciate it.) Anyway, really looking forward to doing the same with everyone who volunteered. I'll PM you shortly. Thanks!
