I really wish mainstream filmmakers would stop focusing on robots as tragic characters and try and create something positive.
Reality is just a vacation.

I would even be happy with a fembot with a Bender-like personality. It seems like every third short film we get has the same melancholy tone and the same sad ending.

its because positive robot films dont make enough drama :/
look at bicentinial man, ai, and inspector gadget to a lesser extent. those movies are flops cause they see the bots in a good light, and they want people to care. not enough people out there will care. you can count not quite human as a successful positive bot series, but im not really sure... either way, looks like its gonna be hot!!
