Maybe it is just me, but the blinking killed it for me. Also breathing (stomach going up and down) kills it for me in real stuff as well. But hey, I liked the vid and the idea

thats actually one of the first scenes in the movie 2040... i don't know how to link to other parts of threads so if you just scan back to june, 09 of 2009 in this the reports section you wil find the original posts and some pics from the film
ok i messed up june was when it was first talked of but last post for that topic was in april 2010 just skip to page 4 half way down to find it

I always assumed robot manufacturers would make them lifelike so that included blinking and breathing. In my mind they do those types of these things, but I see the point in that it's not needed and would take up space in the computer programming. Maybe it would be a function that could be turned off or on. You might need blinking to clear the video lens of the eyes, and breathing could be a heatsink type issue. The chest cavity rises until it vents a bit of heat out.

i think heat scape is going to be the greatest problem for comercial robots

@ Battery: Yup! I also do think that heat scape is going to be the preeminent issue for commercial robots. Everyone think about it, pleas.
