Fallout 3: New Vegas

Hiya Gang!

Been playing through a video game (supported by PC and a variety of game-console platforms) and something related to this forum came up, so I thought I'd report it!

Don't get your hopes up, though.

Background:
The game, "Fallout 3: New Vegas," is an FPS (first person shooter) and also has a lot of "role-playing" elements (leveling up, choosing unique skills, largely non-linear gameplay, etc). It is set in the American Southwest after a nuclear war supposed to take place around the year 2200.

One of the "quests" your character has the option of completing is to locate an appropriate robot in a factory somewhere and reprogram it for sex on behalf of a local brothel. The dialogue options surrounding your recruitment for this task are full of some pretty funny innuendo, and it becomes clear that the brothel manager is interested in the robot for himself.

It goes without saying that, as I encountered this in the game, I was thrilled!

As it turns out, though ****SPOILER ALERT IF YOU ARE PLAYING FALLOUT NEW VEGAS!*** the robot was a fairly standard one you encounter during the game: a Robby-The-Robot type ("Protectron," in the game's parlance) a la the original Lost in Space show (the game Fallout is famous for all kinds of campy pop-culture references... for example, there is also en entire gang/clan of Elvis impersonators roaming the post-apocalyptic wasteland in Fallout: New Vegas). On top of that, you program it to be a male sexbot (well... it has a male voice, at least.. and its anem is "Fisto"). And there I was, expecting some kind of glorious Soroyama-type vision... Story of our lives, I guess.

But the upshot is: hey, at least we ASFRians sort of got an honorable mention. One more step in breaking into the mainstream...

I'm sure you could locate relevent videos on youtube if you search for Fallout 3: New Vegas walkthroughs, but it's not really worth bothering. This post is just due diligence on my part.

Later on when you get to the actual new Vegas strip you meet another fembot. It's really just a computer monitor mounted inside a large bulky frame. Single wheel and wiggly tube like arms with a 3 clawed hand at the end of each arm... But again a good break into mainstream for sure.
