A bit late, but I did indeed watch Halloween III: Season of the Witch at the Dryden Theatre at the George Eastman House in Rochester, NY tonight. Star Tom Atkins (doctor/detective) was on hand to discuss this supremely bizarre horror film. But best of all was seeing an extremely clean, 35mm, widescreen print of the film featuring astounding fox Stacey Nelkin as Ellie. Ellie, as you recall, is revealed to be a robot at the end of the film and essentially dismembered by tire iron -- but the mystery remains whether Harry Grimbridge had a daughter at all or if Cochran just manufactured a robotic doll and fabricated the whole daughter myth.
Atkins was a hoot. He sat right by me to watch Halloween III (in a double-feature with The Fog, and he'll be back tomorrow for "wolfman's got nards" The Monster Squad and Night of the Creeps). He laughed every time that damn Shamrock commercial came on, was shocked by the drill-death of the coroner, and, when his character tossed the mask onto the camera, said, "nice shot."
During the Q-and-A, I asked if the robots were indeed filled with pumpkin pie filling, but he didn't know -- despite his hand being soaked in the stuff which he said was gooey and sticky. He said he had a great time with (then 19) Jamie Lee Curtis in the truck scenes of The Fog (he was 35), and that in Halloween III, he was amused that his then-wife's character was being killed in the next room while he romped with Stacey.
Anyway, it's a sweet dream indeed to consider the broken-down robot Ellie somewhere in need of repair and reprogramming.

You know what the ultimate joke was? Tom said the fight with the robot Ellie was the most fun. The disembodied arm choking him was some hot assistant, and he said he kept asking for more takes as she was essentially at crotch-level the whole time.
Plus, in this context, I certainly wouldn't call that an "ultimate joke".

Clips
There are some clips of the whole movie up on YouTube now.
Pat 8/9 where he rescues the robot
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ReSGedoL ... re=related
and the last part with the dismemberment
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lU4UwEAH ... re=related
But it looks like this 'special edition' cut some of the scenes, like of her head next to her body. Anyone know where to watch that online?
And a current day interview with the actor who played Ellie, the robot, about shooting the robot scene.
