It's just the audio at the moment, but maybe there's a video coming - Robyn's new song 'Fembot'.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9DSgNwGpTzo
On a re-listen, I think I really really hate the song, but hey it's got Fembot-y lyrics - "Yo b!tches, plug me in and flip some switches" is a high point.

I agree with Fection... I hate the song. It's kind of the train-wreck onlooker phenomenon... I despise so much about it, but had to watch. She's strangely unattractive, the song's horrible in its laziness and simplicity... And why the hell do they have two drummers to play such inane dribble?

I think we're being overly harsh, here: it's Swedish pop music, so what would lead us to expect anything more, exactly? A lot of the people dancing to it won't even know what the lyrics mean; and embarrassing as those lyrics are, they actually have some pretty inventive wordplay to recommend them. And, I think she appears quite pretty live (though she seems to photograph horribly).

But more to the point: this is, I presume, a single, and singles have videos, and, given the subject matter of the song, I find it very difficult to imagine how we could be ultimately disappointed by such a video (though it's happened before, i.e. Gwen Stefani).

The lyrics of this song sorta seem like something I WOULD WRITE for Buffybot to say.......and that is scary.....yes, YES IT IS.

These are, I guess, desperate times. At least "desperate times of the year". Hopefully something better will come along.

The thought I have is The Epoxies "Molded Plastic" song. The video has no fembot content whatsoever even though the lyrics do. But I think the Epoxies lead singer "Roxy Epoxy" is really cute even if she's out of my league with all the kinky electrical-tape wrapping for a show.
May your deeds return to you tenfold,

I saw THE EPOXIES touring with THE AQUABATS some years ago... twice-- and met Roxy briefly after the show...she is pretty cool and fun loving, but sadly, she felt that THE EPOXIES got to be more of a "JOB" and a "BUSINESS" more than a fun time out ROCKING.... so she doesn't tour as much with her new band. The PHENOMENAUTS played on the bill as well with THE AQUABATS.... so it was a triple threat/treat of robotic fun.

Janelle Monae is back at the android theme, boo yeah! You may recall her previous song "Many Moons":
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LHgbzNHVg0c

Her new album is called "The ArchAndroid", and though there's not much fembot action in the debut single (Tightrope), save for her "short" female sidekick likes to dance "a little" robotically. However, there's still hope for more content, according to an interview in Honey magazine:
Q: What are your plans for album, The ArchAndroid?
A: We are shooting a video for every song on the album, The ArchAndroid. We are creating a very strong narrative. We have a graphic novel coming out at the time of the release. This is a very special project. I’m very excited about the future and I have no idea what is in store."
Here's the album's announcement trailer, so you can see her in costume & get an idea of what may be coming down the line:

And a high-res JPG of the album cover:

That entire ITVS series seems pretty interesting so far. I'm impressed. A lot of the writing and acting is good, and the production quality is relatively high for the kind of films presented.

That's the movie "Cyborg She", and you'll find the whole movie w/ English subs starting here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OjjQFj0bdck
(and though TranHoangQuan used to have all 11 parts, you'll need to go searching for a few ... hopefully you'll find all of them subbed)

It's not big on fembot action, but the story is better than most live-action Japanese romance flicks.

OK, now I know strictly there isn't any fembot content in the following animation, but there IS a female computer talking to a guybot - and the bit where his arms spin around is kinda funny...

.. but feel free to delete this if it ain't kosher. I include it only for juvenile humour's sake.

It's from a music game called "Drummania."

Song name is "Piranha."

It's one of new songs from latest series, V7. (a.k.a. XG)

Well, I just checked that little robot thing inside the movie.

Maybe it's gonna be a eye-sweetie, huh?

P.S: Mr. fection, How's your "The Perfectgirl Project" is going?

Japanese rhythm games - making the rest of the world feel retarded since the first DDR.

I've been to Tokyo. I visited an arcade in Akihabara, where a local kid was tearing up some bemani game. The song was only about three minutes long or so, but the complexity of the button presses gave him a combo of over 2,000 "perfect" hits. Yes, he was hitting the buttons an average of at least 11 times per second.

I stood there, slack jawed in amazement. When he finished the song, I actually applauded him. He looked at me like I was nuts, and generally avoided eye contact with me. His friend happened to speak English, and we spoke afterwards. He asked me why I applauded, and I told him I was impressed. He then explained that his friend had actually done quite poorly on that song, and it was on easy mode anyway, so his score wasn't even high enough to register on the high score table. I checked the machine, and he was right: The high score table for that song showed scores of at least ten times his score, and 3000+ note combos.

Sometimes I wonder if Japan has already been replacing some of its population with androids.
