I'm a bit skeptical. There don't seem to be any real pictures of the final product. At the same time, though, it doesn't seem like the Adult Entertainment Expo would give a booth to a hoax.

I certainly hope it's real, though.

(Incidentally, this would make Henrik Christensen's prediction of the first sexbots by 2011 right. A year early, too!)

I saw this company is going to be at the AVN show this January. Not sure of it's claim of dolls.

I call it fake! This announcement has so much flaws. For example:

- They have a name for their future male doll "Rocky", although they did even show the female one or have given her a name.

- Most of the links on their website lead to the same "enter your e-mail address" form, even the "live chat" one.

- Pictures on their site look like stolen from girlsofdesire.net or so; clearly not gynoids.

- She can "carry on a discussion", "Have a Conversation or Sex"? Meh!! At best they'll put a speaker connected to a discman playing a CD-RW with prerecorded stuff inside some kind of a Real Doll.

They should at least put some fancy 3D Flash animations on their site for us to enjoy. Like the PHILIPS "perfect woman" campaign - that was funny. This is just lame. But still I hope I'm proven wrong

The female robot is named "Roxxxy". You've got a point everywhere else, though.

I filled out the form, incidentally, and so far have received nothing. After a full 24 hours I'm just going to give up.

Still, I guess we'll have all our answers come the Adult Entertainment Expo, so unless they e-mail me that information I suppose we have no choice but to wait.

ok called there again today after not getting the expected catalog in my email. It appears the whole thing is under wraps until the 2010 AVN trade show. NO NEW INFO AT ALL

Still, I've waited much longer for much less exciting things. You know, new movies and video games. Nothing as big as the (apparent) first-ever companion robot. I can be patient.

Thank you for posting here. It's nice to have the creator of the TrueCompanion himself show up. I have two questions about subscribing I should ask, though.

1. If I subscribe, does this automatically mean I'm making a purchase, or just receiving news updates, et cetera? Unfortunately, with my current financial situation, it's unlikely I can afford a TrueCompanion at the moment even with a discount, and I just want to make sure I'm not agreeing to a purchase I can't make.

2. Most of the TrueCompanion page has forms for filling out. Are these all the subscription form? I filled out the form to hear more about the products (under the "Products" section) and I'm not sure if this means subscribing as well.

No, if you subscribe, it is just to be subscribed ot our newsletter, press releases and all the inside scoop as we make info public - that's all.

If you decide to buy "Roxxxy TrueCompanion", it is a separate process - but she cannot be purchased until the AVN tradeshow when we announce all of her features, etc.

All you have to do is to fill out the Subscribe and that will serve the purpose of getting you in the loop.

Well, if it comes out, I'll be excited. Still, "in development for many years"? The problem is I suspect that the things people could imagine five years were nothing compared to today.

The thing is that robotics is moving by leaps and bounds. US military is putting vast amounts of money into prostheses. I was looking at a serious academic article about how to make touching a robot hand feel natural. It looked at the "give" that a human has and how to achieve that.

The best stuff is going to come when this technology and other work gets routed back into this application.

But I wish luck to everyone...

Some thoughts are bumping around in my head. Wicked Productions the folks that brought us 2040 have teamed up with Realdoll to produce licensed

In a related note, there's a sort of joint-like hole where her neck should be, which is fairly common in some Disney animatronic. I assume her head can move, for some reason.
