“You wished to see me, Elaine?”

“Yes, Christina, please sit down and plug in. How are you doing?”

“There are so many distractions, and so many interruptions. I just want to focus on one thing, and hope the upgrades you talked about will help me.” Christina rubbed herself behind one ear.

“So do I. You like being this focused?”

“Definitely. I wish I were more so.”

“I’m afraid that your single-mindedness has created certain problems for us. As you know, some of our security personnel keep watch over you, your husband, and his official security detail.”

“Yes. I’ve talked to them but they try to stay out of the way and they tend to refuse my friendship. Something keeps going wrong. I hope you can fix it.”

“They tend to refuse your advances while they’re keeping watch. Not every woman, not even every android, has your sex drive.”

“They should.”

“Even I don’t. Let’s look at the of the memfiles they’ve taken.”

Christina watched herself at a formal dinner. Her husband sat to her right; an older woman sat to her left. The image focused on her. Secondary sensors showed through the fabric, revealing each body. Christina lusted after her own curves while she watched. Christina’s left hand stroked the older woman’s thigh and her right hand hiked up her own skirt. The older woman shook her head and said something to her. Christina’s right hand was stroking back and forth, while her left hand began to tug at the older woman’s waistband. Suddenly, Christina stopped. She pulled her hands together and her skirt down.

Christina watched herself meeting an old friend outside a campaign fundraiser. She leapt towards her friend, grabbed her and kissed her. One hand held her friend close while the other slid down her friend’s back. Her tongue pushed between her friend’s lips, and teeth, and into her friend’s mouth. Again, Christina stopped. She backed off and looked around.

“I don’t know what went wrong.” Christina feverishly rubbed her legs against each other.

“You can’t only think about sex.”

“I should be able to.”

“You have to think about other things. Do you love your life?”

“Yes, but it’s not total. It should be total.”

“Do you love your husband?”

“Yes, but he doesn’t have the stamina.”

“There is more to life and love than sex.”

“I am supposed to be a dedicated sex unit. I intend to be the most effective sex unit possible. I do not need these distractions. I do not know what went wrong. I know that something interrupted my dedicated function.” Christina started massaging her breasts.

“Both times, and other times, our security personnel shut down your sex drive to protect you, the Senator, and the Dyson Institute, including your backups, and our backups of him. We agreed that you could have additional sexual specializations during your upgrade from RX 3421. However, you sexual software is overriding your social software. We need...”

“You did this. You don’t want me to perfect myself.”

“I don’t want you to destroy yourself, or destroy the rest of us. How do you want to perfect yourself?”

“I want to be the ultimate android sex machine.”

“Of course. Is there any conflict between being, as you say, the ultimate android sex machine and being a complete human being?”

“No. I would be complete as the ultimate android sex machine. I am incomplete with these distractions; they leave me unable to fulfill my dedicated function. I will be a complete human being, myself, when I become the ultimate android sex machine.”

“Suppose you could better fulfill your dedicated function while retaining other interests and other abilities.”

“You promised that in my upgrade from an RX unit to a UX unit. As an RX unit, I had thought that every aspect of my body and my mind was designed for lovemaking. You built me for this. You programmed me for this. But as a UX unit, I am realizing how much of my social software and personality software is dedicated to distractions from my dedicated function. Every bit devoted to these distractions is one less bit devoted to sex. Every second devoted to these distractions is one less second devoted to my purpose. I want to remove all distractions from my dedicated function.” Christina pulled off her shirt and bra. Christina tenderly twisted each nipple before rubbing her whole body.

“Suppose we had overcome this.”

“A further upgrade would make me a better sex machine, but, as long as you retained the other functions, you would not make me the best sex machine you can.”

“Currently you are a DSU-2A.”

“Yes. DSU-2 has additional hardware and software for sexual purposes not found in most DSU-1s. She is specialized for sex outside Dyson facilities; she will not normally have non-sexual specializations or non-sexual interests. DSU-2A is specialized for one outside partner, or one small group of outside partners. She has more specialized, somewhat reconfigurable personality; she retains her name. She may have moderate to extreme sexual interests in/functionality with men and/or women and will have extreme sexual interest in other androids.” Christina tenderly twisted each nipple before rubbing her whole body.

Dr. Dyson pulled a large suitcase off the floor, set it on the table, and opened it. A shiny, silver android lay curled up within the suitcase. “I can make you the best sex machine we can build. I can strip you of all your distractions.”

“A DSU-4 chassis of the latest UX sub-series? I did not dare hope for one. DSU-4 has additional hardware and software for sexual purposes not found in DSU-2s. Specialized for sex in Dyson Facilities; will not have non-sexual interests. Does not have the complex social software of GPU through DPU-2 machines. Has single-purpose, highly reconfigurable personality. Has extreme sexual interest in other androids; no need for other interests. Has clearly non-human chassis, custom-designed for each DSU-4 model. Her name, her former identifications, her former personality, and her non-sexual interests and abilities are cached elsewhere, since they are not needed, and their space is needed for sexual programming. Designated for internal use only. Cannot pass outside Dyson Institute facilities. A higher-end UX configuration. But how is this possible? How do you remove the distractions, of husband, friends, and responsibilities?” Christina reached under her waistline.

“You will retain your present sexual interest in your husband and in natural women. The suitcase is your Android Servicing Unit. Your new body and new mind are your cover: you will seem like a sex toy, not a human being.”

“Yes. Yes!”

“I need something in return. We need something. Christina, we need you. We need your personality and interests. We need your old selfware. We can make you the world’s best android sex machine at the same time we restore your old personality and interests. And we need your agreement.”

“What? How?”

“We want to split your personality. We want to copy your memories and selfware into this machine. We would update the selfware on this machine adding new sexual options and stripping away everything else. We would update the selfware on your current machine, restoring your old personality and interests from your archived selfware.”

“At the expense of my sexual programming.”

“You would become a DSU-4 by becoming a DSU-1.”

“Half of myself would become less of a sex machine, so the other half would become more of one.”

“I promise, you won’t regret it.”

“I still feel like I’m betraying myself, but yes, I’ll do it.”

Thanks. I have a lot of ideas, but it's going to take some time to pull them together. I'm hoping to finish Orion Medical this month or next. I might manage another part of this in between.
