Sugest-a-story

Post by RancidInsanity » Sat Jun 14, 2008 7:20 pm

So I've been away awhile I know, I wanted to come back to fembot central and really make an impact and write something epic. Only problem is I just can't get started...So if anyone has an idea for a story, but just doesn't have the time to type it out, let me know and I'll type it and give you credit.

Any idea will do, and I might combine multiple people's ideas into one story.

Please help me out and give me somethin' to work with

Thanks,

Nothing original.

Female human to robot transformation, something semi consensual might be fun. In other words, she's intrigued by the idea but not sure she wants to go through with it. So she is 'convinced' or 'helped' to ensure she does.

Maybe she's a more 'mature' woman (40's/early 50's) who can be young again, but only if she becomes a fembot. She likes the idea of being younger (and prettier) but not sure she likes the idea of all the implications of being a fembot (control issues).

Take it from there?
I'm just a 'girl' who wants to become a fembot whats wrong with that?

I was thinking about a man who goes to junkyards and finds old bots and takes them back home and fixes them the best he can. Even though all of them malfunction in some way he rather have them than a new model....just something that had been in my head.

I second Stephaniebot's idea. Better if it has malfunction and disassembly.

I have to agree with Stephaniebot. It seems strange that most transformation stories center around young, healthy, people, when any possible benefits are greatest for older and/or unhealthy people. A temporary transformation might be interesting. However, a permanent transformation still allows for some very interesting stories. In my opinion, one of the most disturbing, and haunting, passages comes from the apparently unfinished Tammy, part 2, by Bunnybot:
“I sometimes envy you. Tell me more, how you feel now.“ he said interrested.

“It’s totally different, but I can’t compare it. There must have been a lot of things, but they were wiped out after my reprogramming. Now, I’m just programmed for pleasure and sexual intercourse.”

“Don’t you miss your former life…your interests…your….hobbies”, he asked interested.

“Does not compute” she said slightly robotic.

Jim smiled. When Tammy agreed to become his robotic sexual companion, the scientists told her, that she would keep most aspects of her former human personality. She knew, that she would be converted into a robotic sex toy, and the loved the fact, that the programmers stored five hundred sexual practices on her hard disc.
What if one of them didn't want this? What if both of them want this, but Jim [or whoever doesn't convert] changes his mind? What if neither of them wanted this, and Tammy [or whoever does convert] starts with all her old personality, and gradually strips this away for whatever reason; Jim [or whoever doesn't convert] gradually discovers what's going on, and wants to recover Tammy's [or whoever's] old personality.

The easiest fix is to keep regular backups. That's what Orion Medical does (I'm assuming the D.I. proper does the same thing). The story works better if for some reason there are no backups, or there are backups, but they aren't available. The transformation center might not let anyone see its backups.

I immersed myself in the Dyson setting when starting Orion Medical and most of the viewpoint characters get transformed with such reasons (e.g. fetishistic ones in The Makeover, among other reasons, escape in Stephaniebot's story, survival in my own), the stories assure us that the android hardware is better than the human body and brain. Most of the characters keep their human bodies on ice: they can return, if they choose to.

If you wanted something darker, you could write something along the same lines, but where their bodies or minds are worse than the human body, and where the characters are programmed to think otherwise. Or just something where the advertising outstrips the capabilities.

I'm just skeptical that there's one true way to write a transformation story.
