Once fembots are developed enough to interact at least largely like real humans they might be used to teach languages by being programmed to use simple phrases in the one you want to know. She could repeat what you say and what's said on TV or the radio in the target language. The conversation would gradually become more complex as her computer evaluates your comprehension and speech.

But while thinking about that it occurred to me that if she can be constructed with a linguistic program you could develop your own language that only the two of you could understand. That would be a level of intimacy similar to that of bilingual people in a foreign country who can talk with the natives and talk to each other without being understood -- or maybe like the members of tribes that have maintained their language and live in the modern societies about them.

Seems like a fun thing.
