That explains alot!
Has it occured to anybody, that Shakira may actually BE a mechanical! She does go into robo mode alot.
My thoughts are, that she has to go into mech mode to allow her motor actuators and ballance systems time to cool down before returning to human mode were she struts her sexy stuff.....
Just a thought.

Two music videos
Here's a couple interesting music videos, but they don't end well.
First DIY from A Band Called Quinn.

Second is a "Music video with real robots."

Sadly, Frostillicus, I suspect that there is no more information because it is a hoax. Maybe I'm way, way off base, but I don't see how something like that could be designed (in total isolation) by someone, who would then be willing to put a video of it up on YouTube, but not have an actual website.
Something that moved like the doll in the video would represent an enormous technical improvement over any other device on offer. Now, it would also represent an uncanny level of skill for a mime! But given that we don't see the doll's face when it's making all its most complicated moves, on top of the otherwise total lack of information (not even a direction to an uncompleted web address), I'm leaning towards drawn to that conclusion.
Or the third possibility is that it's real, but has been designed purely for personal use. In which case... FORGET IT! GO TO THE PATENT OFFICE, BUDDY!

i analyzed this video for hours and my conclusion is that its Real! (no mime)
Why:
Let's split the video into parts:
1. intro (presentation and doll face) - notice the general look of the body and hair is the same as in the next scenes (hair color may vary because of the light change)
2. 'starting' sequence - a long pause between hands-up and hands-down sequences shows that the hands are perfectly synchronized and they are not moving even a single pixel during the pause. Also please try to move hands like that and you'll notice that your hands will have a slight move back just when you try to stop the move too sharp. This is not the case with our doll.
3. action A - need signifiant effort to do that but the moving muscles cannot be seen (look at the arms and legs). Also power cables can be seen at her right leg after moving.
4. action B - the moves are too sharp, tits too firm, the ass always 'touches' a white pixel that can be seen in the background - the precision of movement is too high for a human
5. action C - respects the laws of gravity for a light object
6. action D - two different rythmical moves, and more, the body changes speed in the middle with a pause just when changing the speed, while the head keeps the same speed (EXTREMELY difficult to do for a human) you can split the video into frames to count the time between moves
7. 'shutdown' sequence - see feets in the same position as in previous scenes and her back never changes shape, no breathing etc.
The doll looks very very light so i believe that she's built from that material used to protect the electronic devices and home appliances (sorry i'm not native english
and maybe some cotton under the white 'skin'
Also she looks very fragile and powered by 3 med-power electrical motors only.
BTW i just found the site: hxxp://www.sexbots.us

I sent them an e-mail (via their contact page) asking for release dates. I'll let everyone know what the response is.
I think it's real. BUT, I don't think it's quite what we're hoping for...yet. The prototype appears to be very light weight material so that small, non-stepped electrical servos can move it, and not very quickly it seems. Due to the light weight and low power, it's probably not durable and definitely not strong.
Now if these guys could up the power and corraborate with the Real Doll folks, this might go somewhere. But even so, this is only the kinesiology side of things, there is obviously no AI demonstrated, nor any method of input or output (environmental interaction), just simple and repeated motions.
