Can you tells us a bit about the acting though? Is it the stereotypical blank-faced-"yes master"-type of bit? Is she hot?!?

On the whole, is that set any good? I've been looking at it but didn't have much information to be able to tell if it was good as far as Batman goes or even as far as serials go.

Good acting? Well as far as 1940s acting goes it's ok, and it's the kind of half-blank stare kind of obey the guy in control kind of MC, and she is fairly attractive.
As for the DVD itself, as a whole I don't know if I can reccomend it or not, there is alot of anti-japanese sentiment as it was made during the war, almost to the point of being blatantly racist in spots.

Apparently the Captain America (1944) serial has a woman being MC'd. Can anyone confirm and describe the content?

Yeah, that's the one that Zerodin was originally reporting. I guess it's somewhat confusing to post my question about the Captain America serial in this thread, but I didn't see the need for a new topic.
