Yeah I sometimes think that alot of these anime with the young guy in a house full of women who want him, star a guy who isn't all that interested in the ladies, if you catch my drift!

When it comes to Takahashi Rumiko, it's unbelievably simple: she has almost never written a manga series where matters are closed out at the end. Urusei Yatsura didn't end that way and neither did Ranma 1/2. The only one that ever did to my knowledge was Maison Ikkoku. And since I'm totally unfamiliar with Inuyasha, I can't comment on that.

Hence, you see all the Ranma fanfics where writers try to write their own closure to the story. Hell, I did that too when I teamed together with my friend Mike Smith to create the UY fanfic series The Senior Year.

Of course, the trouble with that is that when you deviate even so slightly against what most fans might see as what is being true to the character, you get jumped on by the canon "purists" who start accusing you of writing things in an OOC (out of character) fashion.

I've always hated that.

So what personally I do like some of what Takahashi-sensei has written, I know the stories are (in my opinion) incomplete. When you encounter series like that, that's where fanfiction comes into play. [/i]
