For those UK-side, there was a full-page article in the daily 'Metro' paper today (7th Feb) in their Metrosexual section about sex with robots. Amusing headlines include 'Let's mech love', 'Tech's appeal' and my favourite, 'Robo-copping off'.
Not sure the story does us too many favours though. I can imagine a fair amount of people having a good giggle reading that 'technosexuals wear metallic make-up, wigs or helmets' and that 'one man... would dress up in a silver lycra bodysuit and get his wife to twist his nipples during sex, as if they were control dials to make him go slower or faster.'
Although the line 'It's basically a nerdy form of bondage and discipline' made me laugh...
FYI, there were three pics - a dark chrome robot (I have that book somewhere...), the navigator woman (actually a Cyborg?... well, duh!) from.... that BBC show that disappeared from our screens barely an episode after it started and Pris from Bladerunner... also not, technically a robot. But hey.
Finally, Edward Gore seems to have been the main man interviewed for the article. He must surely be here somewhere.

The article seems to mostly cover places where magazines tend to go when investigating the fetish, but there was one quote that jumped right out at me. When Mr. Gore is asked about what he finds fascinating about ASFR, he responds, in part, with this:
"I'm fascinated with the idea of getting to know something that understands it's a creation of mankind.'"
That pretty much hits the nail on the head when it comes to my involvement with this movement. It's good to hear it vocalized, as I feel it puts a more positive spin on something which could seem alien to the outside world.

Well I do like my silver bodysuit, but then again I'm not in it for the sexual kick! With underlayers its nicely stiff (without being 'robot stiff') and helps to give me that nice robot body feel that I love. Sadly as yet I havent found a device to truly put the mind in true robot mode lol!
But silver wigs, nope, havent got one of them.
