Calgaryans say CAL-gary; Americans and silly people from the East stress the last syllable (though more and more of them are becoming Calgaryans every day).

Hey, I've been there and I pronounce it correctly.

I didn't say that stressing the last syllable was incorrect; Nothing wrong with Americans doing it, any more than with writing "honor" or "esthetics." People from Eastern Canada who can't say it the "correct" Canadian way, though, are silly.

As a Texan, I'm sure you can appreciate the silliness of the East!

Yah, I personally have never met an American that pronounced it with the emphasis on the second syllable, except maybe a guy from TAcoma, Washington.

Yes, it seems a North American property that sane people live in the central part of the continent.
Yes, the spelling really is odd in some cases; "honor" should be "onur".
