Nice! Pre-cyber Cyberman!

Just finished season 2 here in Australia, can't wait for the spinoff and season 3.

Pfft. It would be on Three - fingers crossed it'll make an appearance on One or Two at some point. :)

Episode 4: "Cyberwoman" is on tonight, BBC3 at 10pm GMT, repeated on BBC 2 on Wednesday and repeated on BBC3 a couple times during the week.

These trailers (especially the second) should be all the encouragement you need to watch it, tape it or get a torrent when it inevitably turns up on the net.

Here's a review of the episode on Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyberwoman

It looks awesome. Anyone have any idea if the series is being shown here in the States?

Saw the episode last night and sorry to be a party-pooper, but the writing (and most of the acting) was really BAD. I felt kind of embarrassed. The ending is crazily absurd! Only Zaphod Beeblebrox could perform brain surgery on himself, and that was supposed to be a joke!
Cool outfit though.

Just seen the episode now, yes I taped it to watch it tonight. And yes, the ending is dreadful. Put it this way I wont watch any more Torchwood.

Firstly I have to agree with Fection, the acting is awful, the storyline is pretty feeble as well. Coming from the same team who produce Dr Who I have to say I was really disappointed.

But the outfit is fantastic, so much sexier than the full cyberman outfit, and OK yes, I'd love to try it on.
But I have to admit the main thing I drooled over was the conversion unit, now that really is hot! And 'decent' amounts of electricity arcing all over it, now that I would definitely love to feel coursing through me. Oh, and the things that attach themselves to the human brain, connect me up to that anytime you like and 'upgrade' me.
Awaiting conversion happily in that conversion chamber, but can I please write my own script!

It was terrible, wasn't it? Still, worth a heads-up.

Judging by your previous posts and your evident interests, I think you should. You'd get a kick out of it.

It's unlikely to make its way to the USA any time soon, mind. Your best bet is torrents, of which I am given to understand that there are many.

For those of us sadly living in the U.S. and Canada who won't be seeing this broadcast anytime soon, here's 10 minutes of behind the scenes discussion and footage of the episode, which is amazing, IMHO. Also worth watching for the remarks from the gay director about the history of "sexy, pneumatic, hydraulic women in SciFi history," about which he professes no knowledge why such a thing would be sexy. As if he's never logged on to "Malebots.com."

Sadly I don't the first thing about torrents. Would anyone care to educate me?

Also, thanks for the link, Kman!

Damn, I just checked out "Malebots.com." Lol. Gay people are so much more efficient than we are when it comes to these things.

Over a thousand screencaps, yo!

also:

hxxp://bbc.co.uk/torchwood

has episode highlights and a "Declassified" documentary about the show. There's also a video about the costume.

Yes. Thank you for the links, Kradzic. Much appreciated.

I was able to figure out how to use Torrents and download the episode. If anyone has seen it and wants to discuss, you know where to find me...

yes, Karel, but Malebots is mostly a pay site, which makes me even happier to be among the FC community. By the way, I really must mention that the above YouTube link depicts a scientist copping several exquisite feels of Cyberwoman as he appreciatively describes her level of augmentation. I've literally lost sleep thinking about her!

Resurrecting an old thread ...

BBC America is playing all 13 episodes of Torchwood currently, and they're now up to our favorite ... Episode 4 (Cyberwoman).

Here's the remaining showtimes for this particular episode (all times ET):
Sun, Sept 30 - 12am
Sun, Sept 30 - 5pm
Sat, Oct 6 - 3pm
Sat, Oct 6 - 8pm
Sat, Oct 6 - 11pm
Sat, Oct 13 - 2pm

In Episode 13, I saw the same actress comes back from the past as "Lisa" (the real-world name for Ianto's girlfriend) ... is she still in costume, or plain clothes?
