New Doctor Who Episode: Bad Wolf

Post by Fembot-Fem » Wed Jun 14, 2006 3:43 pm

It's been awhile since I posted, and seeing this I figured I had a chance to contribute. :)

The Episode is of the new Doctor Who, where the Doctor and two new charicters (Rose, and a Captian named Jack) find themselves in an orbital television station where contestants on shows are picked at random, and those who loose, supousedly, die. Most of the shows are actual shows in Britian, some shown in America.

The episode features several 'androids', who are blocky (old school) robots rather than actual humanoids. My favorite is the one that is in the rather dark version of 'The Weakest Link', where the Weakest link gets disintegrated. The android in a monotone voice goes "You are the weakest link, goodbye." before shooting contestants with a laser. This one is androgynous though it's voice is somewhat feminine sounding. I dont like this one so much for the ASFR factor, but rather because I cant help but laugh at the parody. (Dark humor tickles a certian fancy for me.)

The more 'actactive' ones are in a section with a make-over show (I dont remember the name n.n;; ). These are two robots with obviously feminine features. They comment on Jack's fassion style by saying things like "This one is more the style of President Schwarzenegger".

There is also a human that could loosely be considered a cyborg. She is practicaly a human mainframe, wearing a one-peice suit with wiring connected to her. Although a human, for awhile she has a very robotic manner of speech.

Well, may not be everyone's fancy, but I imagine that there are those who would find this helpful ^_^;

I remember it well. Aired over here last Summer.

It's worth noting that all of the major robots were voiced by their real-life counterparts. In this case, the voice of "Annedroid" was Weakest Link host Anne Robinson. Similarly, "Davinadroid" from the Big Brother take-off was Davina McCall, host of the Friday night eviction programmes ("You're live on Channel 4, please don't swear").

These would be "Trine-E" and "Zu-Zana", and the programme is "What Not To Wear". Again, their voices are those of the equally-irritating (but rather less deadly) presenters of WNTW, Trinny Woodall and Susannah Constantine.
