A warning to all
Hi,
I have just had to removed any trace of a member from this community on their request (not a small job!)
Please can all members be reminded of the personal impact membership of this this site can have if discovered.
Total anonimity is the best safeguard, but this is not a guarentee.
I would also strongly advise against any interaction with this place whilst at work.
Mistakes such as this are amost always punished.
Href

isn't this taking it a bit far? personally, i don't think that visiting this BBS is nearly as bad as looking at pornography, for example. i can understand how a significant other might be perhaps slightly weirded out, but....is it really such a big deal? not to sound pretentious, but i try not to do anything i would be ashamed of if others knew. i don't consider my facination with androids a terribly shameful thing. just my two pence.
best of luck to the member in question.
best of luck to the member in question.

I beg to differ......
I beg to differ in opinion. All that seems to come to mind when the subjects of female and android are combined, especially in this country in general, negative associations usually follow. No real need for me to go into details.

Indeed
in a funny way
Still, those words Href just said are words to live by.
Remember kids: there's the Freemasons, the Illuminatti, Skull and Bones, and then there's us.
You wouldn't want the general public to know your a member of a kinky secret society. Partly because that's what's cool about it (secrecy) and partly because Jimmy at accounting wouldn't get it. Since Jimmy is a dud, Jimmy either makes fun of/ or is disgusted by/ that which he doesn't get.
So heed the operators words... stick with the news sites at work and visit this clubhouse in your leisure time. Don't make him pick up the cloth towel and windex if you get caught.

I want to sympathize with whoever seems to have gotten in trouble at work, I hope he/she can rejoin us from a private PC under a different name sometime in the future, but still..
This is not as innocent a site as some seem to think!
The stories section is full of erotica, and the gallery is full of nudity.
There are plenty of links to other adult sites.
Viewing this site at work is, well, not a good idea in light of the above...
And just because of the "goofing off at work" as well.
I mean there are even some of us who could lose our jobs even if our private Internet habits on our own home PCs were found out! Especially in certain countries, or sensitive government jobs.
I also really worry for people accessing this site form university accounts!
How anonymous are they, really?
And of course there's many of us who have to worry about people snooping through the Internet history folder! (How many of us become much less active when we have a sginificant other, hiding and deleting all those links, and come back after a breakup?)

I feel that I had to weigh in on this issue. I hope whoever the member of this community that got in trouble at their place of employment would learn from this experience.
Concidering the work environment in which SHARED OR PUBLIC computers are the norm. The chances would just be too high of discovery. Depending on the work rules the best bet would be simply not to surf.
At my workplace I cant get onto the internet and e-mail is all I get. I see no reason for surfing because I simply dont have the time. I am reminded of this saying...
"Sometimes the best way to win is simply not to play."

I hope that things would improve with the member in question in the coming weeks. Href already listed a site what about a list? Maybe that can help?
