Re: Blank
hmm...kinda reminded me of an old film "the companion" 1994. Which is also something about main character ordered male android for accompany as she writes in a remote cabin in the woods.

I thought the same - couldn't remember the title of that one. I remember thinking it was a decent tv-movie thriller for its time. (and that it would be great if the -bot was of the fem- variety)

I actually paid that 10 bucks and checked on the movie. Really unexpected, the actresses good in acting and the story in total its not bad. Worth that 10bucks if i can keep that movie by downloading it, sadly its copyright watermark and i can only keep it for 72 hours. After that, guess its another 10bucks for "renting" it 72hours.

Re: Blank
I thought it was definitely impressive for a first feature from the director.
I also thought $10 (less than a local cinema ticket) was pretty good for an indie feature festival screening none of us would have had access to pre-2020.
My guess is it'll probably be $9.99 to buy on Amazon in a year or so.

Re: Blank
33, "The Companion" actually features a small fembot cameo. IIRC, the protagonist winds up visiting an android showroom, and gets the hard sell from the eager proprietor. Through it all, the protagonist remains highly skeptical, until the proprietor reveals that his lovely secretary is actually one of the android models the company sells. And that's pretty much it. A quick hit on the IMDB shows that one Brenda Leigh essayed the small role of "Ellen," and I vaguely remember that she had all of two lines. None of the "ASFR Triggers" were in evidence; it was strictly a single mention of Ellen's nature. For what it's worth, Ms. Leigh was pretty easy on the eyes, though.
Assemble the ladies? I didn't know that they were broken......
