"Scalp-off?"
One frequent type of robotic reveal in media that I've come across is where the character is revealed to be an android by peeling off the scalp to reveal a plastic/metallic/transparent skull.
Personally, I find this type of reveal to be far more attractive than the more common Face-off reveal. I suspect its because it removes virtually all doubt whether the character is entirely synthetic or not while preserving their human appearance.
Am I the only one who has noticed this?

Re: "Scalp-off?"
I always thought it would make sense for the face to be very delicate with many actuators to give the illusion of nuanced human expression, so face-off seemed impractical and the scalp-off was more realistic.
Of course, face-off is exactly what RealDoll is doing (and DSDoll Robotics is not dissimilar in construction) and the effect is pretty good although it still seems like a rubbery mask than a real face.

I'm a big fan of the scalp-off... It seems like a logical place (given the hard nature of the skull) to hide access points and such.

I agree as well! "The eyes are the window to the soul", and when you remove the face, you're taking away the main way an image conveys the soul.
But vulnerability, sexuality, and femininity are part of what trigger my kicks in this fetish. Of course, some people like the sudden reveal as totally inhuman, and that may be why the faceoff appeals to them.
