Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Gets a Remake

This logically means, a reworking of the famous "Doll on a Music Box" sequence with Sally Ann Howes. :D

Classic movie-musical CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG is reportedly set to head back to the big screen in a new film.
The 1968 picture starred DICk Van Dyke and was based on a novel by James Bond creator Ian Fleming.
And Michael G. Wilson, who owns the rights to Fleming's story, has revealed that he is in talks to create a new version of the movie.
He says, "There may be a new film of Chitty, we will have to see."

I can't tell if the world is suffering a dearth of new ideas, or if I've just finally lived long enough to see that everybody's ideas get recycled over the course of a couple of generations.

The next classic movie-to-Broadway-back-to-remade-movie is the sweet old children's classic, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. (I've always been amazed that the book was written by Ian Fleming. From magical car to 007. Who knew?)

I assume that once again, the movie wizards will try to improve the dazzle quotient with special effects not available back when Dick Van Dyke stared as the crackpot inventor and Sally Ann Howes starred as Truly Scrumptious in the original 1968 film. Let's just hope they don't mess up the story, the music and the charm.
