Fortunately, Amazon lets us search the book before we buy it. Searching for "robot" yields precisely 3 passages, two of which refer to "robot wife". The third is about dealing with a "robot warrior," and uses male pronouns when referring to the automaton.
Searching for "android" gives 3 more hits, but Amazon would only let me see the first of these. It was a limited warranty for an android, but does not go into detail on the nature or function of the supposed 'droid.
From the writing I saw, this book looked less interesting than professional sports. This is coming from someone who ranks any kind of professional sport as excruciatingly dull. It's a lifetime grudge that has built up over years of science fiction shows being preempted for two hours by the "last 5 minutes" of a football game.
There are far more enjoyable ways to spend $5.00.
