Post by 33cl33 » Sat Oct 02, 2004 5:20 pm

I noticed that the new fembot character on Andromeda makes her debut this coming friday (Oct. 8th) at 7pm Eastern time (4pm PST) on Sci Fi.

Doyle droid

Post by noidguy » Sat Oct 02, 2004 7:10 pm

Yeah, looks like the old characters are reappearing one by one and next episode it is Harper's turn. I would assume the Doyle droid was created by Harper as a sort-of substitute for Rommie, but would guess that this time he had more selfish reasons in mind.

Rommie out pregnancy leave

Post by thx » Mon Oct 04, 2004 11:09 pm

Tribune's official website Andromedatv.com has put up a feature on android Doyle, played by Brandy Ledford. Ledford will be taking on the role of a new android to complement Andromeda's main AI, while Lexa Doig carries out her pregnancy term.

She will also be providing the body of Andromeda on-screen, although Ms Doig will continue to provide the head, shoulders and voice. Unlike the ship's core AI however, the android, will not be Rommie.

The feature includes two pictures of Doyle wearing a pink catsuit, with a new-looking gun prop that does not resemble the typical Andromeda forcelance or gauss pistol.

Rommieweb previously reported Ledford's casting as Doyle: http://www.rommieweb.com/news/40

Just a reminder. Doyle tonight at 7 on Scifi. Screen caps coming soon after, if worthwhile, at gynoid.com

Bah. Nothing special in this episode. They don't go into her origins at all. No hint that she's a gynoid, except that she's hanging around Harper and Harper is building droids.

Next week's episode focuses on Doyle's origins. Might be interesting. (But probably not)

Is it me, or is this season progressing rather slowly? Are they going to spend the entire season stuck in that system?

Yeah, and I'm not the biggest fan out there. I do enjoy the show, but they're really stretching out a minimal amount of plotline.
