Basement Jaxx "Plug It In" Video - A Must See!!!

Post by RobotMaster » Sat Mar 06, 2004 11:51 am

I wish I could claim that I found this all on my own, but the credit belongs to Kimy the Living Mannequin. Everyone who has ever lusted after a fembot needs to see this! I am not s**tting you, it is one of the finest vids I have ever seen! Deactivations, jerky movements, hot models, overloads and malfunctions! I haven't been able to concentrate on anything else since I have seen this! Here is Kimy's post from The Living Mannequin Circle forum:
Hi All,

Basement Jaxx had released a video that would make any freeze/robot fan go completely wild. You can view the video at http://www.basementjaxx.co.uk/index5.htm in Real Video format. The video is called: "Plug it In", fitting, no?

The freeze scenes although fairly short, after all a video clip, are very good. The models are made up to perfection, and the freeze/robotic acting is simply the best I've seen in years.

This one surely ranks up with Electrica Barbarella, and in my opinion surpasses it in some areas. Enjoy.

Hugs and Kisses,
Kimy the Living Mannequin
Since it requires a little digging to find the video, somebody posted a direct link in response to Kimy's post. The worst thing about this is that it is in Real Media format, and thus very hard to download. I'm going to give it my best attempt, however! Here's the direct link      :

Life is good!!!

Enjoy,

RM

 WOW  Excellent find. This is a great video. Probably the best fembot action on a music video ever. It's like having 6 Electric Barbarellas, among them Lucy Liu.

I posted a zip file containing 42 screenshots of the video's fembot action to the gallery \ screens-section. (awaiting validation)

Hope I can figure out how to save that video stream to my hard disk : :?

That is ridiculously good. WOW!!! Instantly among the all-time greatest ASFR clips.

Only bad part is the end. What a waste!

It might have been better, had I a cable modem to watch it straight through, instead of with all the annoying "dropped packet" and "Communicating With Server" pauses...

But, I'll agree with the majority...

Oh...my...GOD!

Very nice!

Was anyone able to capture the video? I tried StreamDown, but it gets a handshake error when it tries to connect to the video.

They didn't lock out directory access on the server, but all I could find were the link files (.ram files), I couldn't find the .rm files anywhere. Anyone else have any luck?

Ok, I managed to get the streamed file using "HiDownload". I will keep it on my webserver for some days, you can download it under: http://barthosch.dyndns.org/fbc/basemen ... g-it-in.rm

But it's 'only' a DSL connection and it's my regular computer, so don't expect great reliability or speed.

I also put the file into my eDonkey/eMule folder: ed2k://|file|ASFR.-.basement-jaxx_plug-it-in.rm|9271098|3AF83C688F6AA1EEE14F678B9B07076D|/

Have fun :D

I agree the video is certainly quite something, though I agree that the ending is a bit of a disappointment. What a waste of all those fembots!
I'm just a 'girl' who wants to become a fembot whats wrong with that?

Yes, yes, YES!!!!

The movement, the blank stares, the poses...top 10 material to be sure. If teaching Bot Acting 101, this vid gets shown at the first class meeting.

The ending? Not my thing at all, but the rest is just too sweet.

And thanks, Bart, for providing the download. Big thanks.

This one has a ton of replay value, so I think I'll...watch it again!

I have never been a big fan of Realplayer because of the way it intertwines itself all over your computer but I do have Realplayer classic.
When I try to watch the video It seems to jump from scene to scene kind of like I am only seeing every fifth frame. The audio is fine though.
Does anyone have any idea what I mite be doing wrong?

Should have mentioned this before....

Post by fection » Tue Mar 09, 2004 5:37 am

Sorry about this, but I THINK I may have tracked down another potential robo-video.
While I was looking for stills from the basement jaxx vid, I found this site....

http://www.xmixprod.com/artists.html

About a quarter of the way down (under felix da house cat) there's this....

Standing On a Corner Watching Cars Go By:
‘Cyberwhore’ The first single from Felix’s new album ‘Thee Courtship of Devin Dazzle’ is now available on Felix’s new label Rude Photo (Cat# ZRP01). Produced with long time collaborator Dave The Hustler, this 12” is filling dancefloors much like ‘Silver Screen’ did. Cyberwhore features a crunching guitar, pulsating bass line and the sexiest female robot this side of Bladerunner. Click here to check out some streaming audio.

....from what I can tell, the streaming audio link isn't a link, but has anyone heard (or more impertantly SEEN!!) this song?
It could be they're just talking about a female robot's voice in the song, but even so....
fec.
