So, I'm sittin' here watching Angel for a few minutes and a woman's eyes flicker as she computes something.

"I know what is in every file. It's my job. I'm files and records."

Eh? Did I miss something or is she just a one-episode gimmick?

My boyfriend, who is an avid Angel veiwer, does not remember the character at all. Upon my searching, the only episode I have found mention of Files in is "Dad" -- season 3, episode 10, which would be the episode you just watched.

Yeah, it's the episode where everybody is after Angel's baby. In one scene a woman is scouring through the old dusty files in the basement, looking for info on a vampire hunter (named Holst?). Another woman sits behind a desk. The first woman is frustrated after 14 hours of searching. She mentions the name "Hols...something" out loud and the woman behind the desk automatically responds with a biography of the man, with names, dates, places, etc. Her eyes flicker with a metallic glint and you hear sounds like old cash registers as the buttons are pushed. She goes on with a few more details, then pauses and says...."One second" And then more ch-ch-ch-chng noises. Kinda neat. But I'll bet she doesn't show up again.

Did some more checking. Downloaded the show from kazaa. The character's name is Gwen, played by Stephanie Courtney. I didn't have time to see if she appeared in more episodes.

Someone has a thing for electronicly inclined chicks named Gwen on that show. Another character named Gwen with the power to cause electric shocks when touched showed up in the fourth season of Angel, though I do not think she had any connection to the Files & Records Gwen.
