'That' Question

Post by Muzzleruffels » Wed Aug 27, 2014 12:18 pm

Before I ask, I want to recount something fairly current:

Everybody's heard of the game, "Five Nights at Freddy's", right?
To those who haven't, it's a horror game that came out about a month ago in which the goal is to survive (as title states) five nights at a "Chuck-e-Cheese" caricature while fending off against four deranged animatronics.
Although the concept and design of the game is insanely simplistic, it has nonetheless received near-universal acclaim for this, and in the short time it's been out has become one of the most popular indie horror games to date.

What caught my attention though was along with all the inevitable fan art and work, there was a great amount of......Rule 34.....accumulating with it.

Even though it's (again) been out for almost a month, in that time there's been alot of artwork depicting the animatronic horrors in themes more sexual to appeal, with alot of the focus pointed at a female version of one, particular robotic vixen.
Just type "Foxy the Pirate" on Google, and you'll know what I mean.

But this phenomenon (of sorts) has beckoned me to ask you guys one, particular question:
What are your (the members of Fembot Central) thoughts on Robo-Furries?

Personally I prefer humanlike fembots although some furrybots can be sexy they are more specialised and more of a special niche In my opinion anyway.

I don't have anything to add, but this thread has convinced me that if Disney's upcoming Big Hero 6 is even remotely successful, there will be drawings of a sexy female version of Baymax the Robot.

I remember having a similar discussion about 18 years ago where we pondered how this could actually be yet another avenue of fetish. We didn't focus on the furry aspect at the time but more along anthropomorphic alien women, fembots with working (if not functional) angel or fairy wings, multiple arms like an Indian goddess, giantess, etc. So many people could have their fantasies fulfilled in this way if they would only give it a chance. I'm sure when the time comes, they will ;)

I know from Japanese videogames and anime that they enjoy blending, mingling, tossing together elements and characters from any number of entirely unrelated mythologies across the world and the centuries.

I think that tends to be crass and confusing. If you look to make a hybrid, stick to two characters, and really understand their qualities. Then maybe you can do honor by them, not misuse them so cheaply.

There's a reason you don't see werewolf-zombies or mummy-vampires (who positively HATE vampire-mummies, I've capriciously decided). Those artless mash-ups promise more, and deliver less.

Fembots, robots can come in any disguise. That's baked in. Perhaps it's hard for furry-lovers to get a backstory they like? Magic? Bio-engineering? Aliens? If you want a furry in the near future, I guess robots are your best/only shot. With robots you get total control - but they aren't really anthropomorphic animals then, are they? Their identities aren't inherently of the same nature, and one identity is the kind of illusion we love to see collapse in a sleeper fembot. Is it pleasurable to dis-illusion a robo-furry?

I've been a house cat lover all my life, but I'm just not furry-oriented enough to get the robo-furry.

Robots will enable people to live out any of their fantasies, which will be their function if, as is predicted, the human life span is prolonged (hopefully not as a century or two of old age). I don't see how anyone can object to the use of robots of whatever kind one desires although we can count on certain types to try.
Being old fashioned, I simply want them to resemble actual human females as much as possible and perform the latters' mating functions but other persons can follow their own inclinations.

Nothing against the perpetual all-purpose android catgirl. But it's cuuuuuuuute, and that means "not sexy" to me.

I believe the great philosopher Sir Bugs Bunny answered this question long ago: "Ehhh. Mechanical. ...Well, so it's mechanical!" as he proceeded to succumb to the mechanized maiden's fair offerings. :nerd:

Personally i like more the rule 34 of "chicka".

in any case: while i do not like furries in that way, i do find many of them at least interesting. It's like "Wow" but not really "i'd fuck it" kind of feeling

BUT

really this guy takes the cake. Really wish to see somebody at the level of this guy making human cyborgs

The reason for the mash-up is actually quite simple; there are people out there who happen to like both ASFR and are members of the Furry fandom as well. There is nothing saying that either fetish is mutually exclusive. As you said, robots and fembots specifically can look like anything human. And really, it isn't so much the fact of how they get to be so much as what they are; many in the Anthro/Furry community who simply enjoy the look, what they are and how they got to that point is largely irrelevant, unless the creator feels it has to be part of a story or if it ties into another fetish.

Oh, by the way? The guy above did do more human-like robots for a while, back in the day. But he's since gone on to do anthro cyborg/robot art exclusively, to the point of taking down the non-anthro stuff. His choice, but a bit of a shame. It was quite good!

Futureworld would have robo-furries. The possibilities of Futureworld open the imagination up so wide, it would have to be its own show.

How many seasons of Westworld will HBO need before they can make a spin-off?

I'll dream outrageous for a moment, and imagine a scenario like when the primary actors of Stargate were exhausted after eight seasons; but rather than end the series, they brought several other actors in to fill their positions in Stargate Command. Westworld could morph into Futureworld, as a way of reinventing and revitalizing a series declining in popularity.

"Better Call Saul" isn't Premium cable, but AMC is halfway to there.

Once a successful Westworld series ends, or its popularity wanes to cancellation, maybe Futureworld can jump off HBO to Cinemax. Or AMC could air episodes, edited for sex, then sell uncensored DVDs. Perhaps there is a Canadian or European channel big enough and sexy enough for Futureworld (rated xXX,l like it should be).

For a long way down the road: a Kickstarter back-up plan, a la "Veronica Mars," to revive and reboot the Westworld series onto another network. Hulu, Netflix, and Amazon might be persuaded.

To answer the original question: I do definitely enjoy robo-furries, and in the sexual way.

Furries (fembot-like or not) are a turn off for me, but that's just my own taste. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, to each his own, etc.

This is definitely something of a crossover for me, being that I have a cyborg fetish and a werewolf fetish, so if those two worlds collide with cybernetic werewolves....major malfunction, in the best possible sense.

Sorry that I haven't been active on this thread of mine whatsoever, and that I won't be able to respond to everyone's answers (which were all great, by the way), yet after asking everybody what there view is on the whole 'anthroid' discussion, I think it's time I come clean with my own response.

I like robo-furries as much as I do with androids, and this interest is both in the design and concept, as well as the theme of "artificial-imitating-life" genre. Yet I have to admit while I am intrigued with the blending of furry & ASFR material, I'm abit selective on the balances of the two, particularly with the prior. For example: I don't wish for the "furry" aspect to be too animalistic, and instead wish to see a balance of the human and animal aspects; in other words, no multi-breasts for me, please :) .

But besides that, I do like the idea, and if I ever get the chance+free-time, I may try to write something of the theme someday.
------------

Now on the matter of what originally caused me to ask such a question: Five Nights at Freddy's 2 has just released...........a whole month ahead of schedule.
Apparently Scott Cawthon (the game's creator) decided to release the game early as both appreciation for the demo's response from LetsPlayers, and that he didn't want to wait too long to release the public demo. Considering the fact that some of the new animatronics in this game have a more robotic appeal to them, there's surely more ASFR-related content on the way for them.

A reason why I mention this is that there's a fan-game of 5NAF, called Five Nights at Betty's, being created by foxpawmcfly on Furaffinity.net. From what the creator states, the game will be fully voice-acted, contain five nights of play, and have male, female and bi-gender characters, so everyone can enjoy.
Here's a link to the completed Night 1 demo: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/14959949/
I must also add that there's a malfunction scene somewhere, if you know where to look 8)

Anyways, thank you all for your responses, because it's topics like this that keep this fantastic community going strong!

Oh, I'm terribly sorry. I forgot that you need an account on the site in order to view it there.

If you have one, or wish to make one, then viewing it won't be a problem, but for those who don't wish to go through the hassle, here's a link to a different site:
https://e621.net/post/show/555961/-3-ad ... ty-breasts

This one doesn't need a login to view, and the site has a few good ASFR pics of its own, if anyone's curious. For example, I was just going on the site to clear up this issue, when I came across this faceless beauty :https://e621.net/post/show/557057/anima ... a_-fnaf-ch

Again, sorry for the hassle, now everyone can view and enjoy :)
