Virus Alert: Ah'm Chargin Mah Lazer! [Not a story segment]
You may have noticed that the frequency of episode postings has gone down. Casual observers may interpret this as a sign of writer fatigue. Pessimists might even see it as a sign of writer's block, or fear that I'm going to just drop off into silence.
Let me assure you all: I'm still here, and I'm writing faster than ever before.
Unfortunately (Or fortunately, depending on your perspective), I've reached a point where an episode can't just be 6 to 12 kilobytes of text. Since The Right Equipment, every episode has been at least 24 kilobytes, and everything except Torn Apart has been closer to 40 kilobytes. The definition of "one episode" as a unit of measurement is, apparently, on a logarithmic scale. So, while I'm writing at an impressive clip, it takes more and more words to make "one episode."
The funny thing is, this next episode is pretty much pure fun. Season 5 has been an emotional gauntlet of sorts, and I needed to unwind. And the result is probably going to be twice as long as any single episode that came before.
Should any of you worry that I'm just blowing smoke, perhaps my proofreader and quality advisor can jump in here to offer their opinion on what they've seen of the upcoming episode.

Okay, it's Saturday now, and the probability is that I won't be able to complete and post 5.67 today. This is largely due to the fact that I've accidentally turned an episode into a novella.
It's almost there, folks. Shouldn't take more than about 3,000 words now to finish up this episode, but that probably won't be possible today.

Yeah, that's why I'm waiting for it all to be done before I start reading.
Based on my impressions by reading the very first segment, my patience is going to be rewarded.

WilloWisp, I got a question are you going to release a Who's Who or Dossier on your story?

Give me an example of the kind of thing you're looking for here, and I can try, if I can work it in somewhere. I've got enough material planned to keep Stephen King busy writing for a whole day, which in normal human terms means my currently planned material will probably take a few years to get through.Brytestar wrote:WilloWisp, I got a question are you going to release a Who's Who or Dossier on your story?

Ok after a rather long day. I am hoping that I am sane enough to make this request. So here we go....
What's really going on with Kirk Peters the ultimate bad guy? What made him go to the dark side? Basically is his goal is to conquer? if so what? But if not then why? I hope it makes since if not I'll elaborate further. Again that is my impression.

Based on the information that's publicly available, it's actually not that big a leap. I still haven't explicitly stated who created the virus, or why, and the newspaper clippings from Look on My Works do imply that Kirk's ability to run ScenariCorp had diminished significantly over time.Kishin wrote:Uhm...I'm not Willo, but I can promise you: Kirk Peters is NOT the ultimate bad guy. I think you need to reread a little and take note of a fellow named: Kyle Parsons. Same initials, two very different people.
Ah, fan theories. I love 'em.

Indeed...just like how I love the fact that both James and Kirk's parents were obviously fans of Star Trek.WilloWisp wrote:Based on the information that's publicly available, it's actually not that big a leap. Elvis Lives. Not in this timeline, but in quite a few others.

Easter egg hunters will have found a more direct statement from Miriam and Alex Peters regarding this.DukeNukem 2417 wrote: Indeed...just like how I love the fact that both James and Kirk's parents were obviously fans of Star Trek.
