Heya! Just popping in to note for people here that I've been doing some work on categorising stuff on FW - mainly images.
I've been using categories to make a psuedo-tagging system, since the new uploader gives users the option to add categories to uploads.

I've already categorised a number of images, using categories stored in the TropeTags supercategory and I've also added a CharacterTags supercategory for characters from media, OCs, etc, though it is currently empty. Take a look!

Here's how you can add categories to images, etc:

To add a category to an image before upload, simply type the one you want in the category bar during the wiki, the wizard will give you options on the currently created categories. If a category you want isn't already created you can also enter new ones. Added categories appear inside a box with a cross (which you can click to remove them), so make sure you've added all your categories properly before proceeding.

Any categories you've added that aren't already in the wiki will appear as red links - this means you need to create them first, which is simple - just click on the link and either write a quick description of the category, and/or add it to another category. You don't need to do this, but it stops the wiki from yelling at you for trying to create a page with no content

Any images you upload without any categories will be automatically labelled as Uncategorised and dumped in that category, so you should probably at least add one simple category, eg the type of image, or your username, something like that is enough.

For images that are already uploaded, you simply edit the image page and add [[category:x]] to the image page, (replace x with the tag you want to add), you can do this for as many categories as you like.

Alright, all stories posted in the last year and a half or so have been copied over to FembotWiki.

If you are seeing some files being deleted, don't worry, they have been verified as duplicates of already existing images and are merely being pruned from the wiki.

I just want to post a "new" rule...although it should be common sense. FembotWiki is a place for robot related artwork and stories. It is not a place for fake nudes, or general photos of actors/actresses who happened to portray a robot at sometime in their career.

If you are going to post a fake nude of an actor/actress, it must at least have been manipulated as well to make it robotlike. Just being an actor/actress who portrayed a robot is not enough. Any posts of unmanipulated fake nudes from this point will be deleted.

Alright...for the first time after assuming ownership of FembotWiki, I have finally updated the Main Page....only took me an hour

I'm probable going to cut back down on the artists images on the main page from 25 to 20 or 15, since after all these years, so many of the good images have already been used by Rman on the main page, that there aren't too many left to choose from

Also, once I'm more comfortable with the new editing tools, I will be adding the Author of the Month section to the Main Page. Since we're already approaching the beginning of October, I would likely start it at the beginning of November instead

Yes, but Aaron Stone isn't the Android in the screen caps...The Android is a character named Hunter and the actor playing him was in his mid-twenties at the time.

I confirmed, the actor playing Hunter is Jason Earl Jones, born 1977. Episode aired in 2009, meaning he was approx. 32 years of age. According to this page: https://aaronstone.fandom.com/wiki/Hunter Hunter is merely listed as a "teenager", but does not specify a precise age. In the past on this site, we have gone by the age of the actor/actress portraying the robot, as opposed to the age of the character they are portraying. (IE: Franky in Yo Soy Franky: actress was 23, playing a 16 year old.)

FembotWiki Main Page updated for this week...I have decided to reduce the number of featured artwork on the lower section from 25 to 15 images...unfortunately, due to a current dry spell in the number of new artwork submissions, and the sheer number of images already selected in the past by Robotman over the past 11.5 years, the reduction was necessary. It will also make the homepage look a bit less cluttered when I integrate the Author of the Month section next month...

In keeping with my promise to always keep FembotWiki up-to-date, FembotWiki received a minor upgrade today, from MediaWiki 1.33.0 to 1.33.1. This upgrade was minor, containing only big fixes and security patches, so you will likely not notice any changes. Thanks to Blox_242 for helping with the updates!

Also, after weeks of grueling work, I have finally sorted the 1,500+ files from the wikis Unused Images section onto proper pages in the gallery. As such, I have removed the link to that page from the wiki sidebar, though you can still access the page through the Special Pages link, or from the Main Page link. Hopefully you will never need to access it, because I plan on making sure files that end up there from now on do not remain there for long.

I have revamped the Story Archive page with collapsible elements, so you no longer have to scroll down very far to find your favorite stories. It even looks great on mobile devices.

Also, all stories that are posted here on Fembot Central are being quickly archived on the wiki as well, so everything should be current.

FembotWiki has achieved a new milestone today: 60,000+ files uploaded

In addition, a few changes have occurred in recent weeks:
A new Social Profile feature has been adding, allowing users to utilize a more social media style profile page. We are looking into also adding Gifts, which would function like trophies/awards, and could be given out for such things as artwork, editing prowess, or story content.

While we have the upcoming MediaWiki 1.34 upgrade to look forward to, Blox has provided the wiki with a new dark-themed skin:

"I've uploaded a dark skin to the Wiki, you can preview it in your account settings by selecting the RobotVector style. There are probably some minor styling changes I'll need to fix so if anything looks funny let me know"

It's still being tweak a little as we try and perfect things here and there, but please let us know how we can make it better!

Also, I've taken the new Media Viewer extensions out of beta a few weeks ago, so you'll find that clicking on an image will now bring up a useful slideshow presentation. This will be especially useful for The_Liar's and Uncom's comics. You can, of course, still access the file page by right-clicking on the image thumbnail and opening in a new page...so don't worry!

I have just installed on extension on FembotWiki that allows for YouTube videos to be embedded. I am, however, instituting a couple of rules for this extension:

*Only full videos posted by members of Fembot Central, FembotWiki, or Fembot Labs can be embedded.
*Only clips/scenes from movies/TV shows can be embedded.

To embed a video, one must simply add this embed code to the page: <youtube>InsertLinkHere</youtube>

Just an FYI guys, I'm testing the new release of PHP 7.4 on the wiki, so please let me know if you have any issues since it's unclear if the current MediaWiki version completely supports it yet. Even if not, PHP 7.4 is a minor release and only includes modest performance and maintenance fixes.

If anything, you may notice page load speeds decreased by a few milliseconds...
