Yeah...an air compressor and a tether, it says, plus high-speed Internet access.
What, is Valerie going to be just another fancy-shmancy PC case that can supposedly walk?
Judging from the pix here : http://www.androidworld.com/prod19.htm, she just stands in one place and looks pretty...though they are using one of the AT&T Natural Voices there.
Cripes...if I want a statue, I'll build my own. It'd be cheaper and faster...just go buy a mannequin, and put my computer inside.

True...but before I mortgage the house to buy a female android, it better do more than what I see on their website.ButchyBoy wrote:Well.........ya gotta start somewhere. Any bets on how many years before the RealDolls are walking and talking?
I'm sorry, folks, but something just doesn't sit right with me about this whole "Valerie" premise...

IMHO, that's just a common mannequin. There's no way in the world that the fiberglass female shaped object shown in the photos could be an advanced interactive android. I used to watch science channels and as far as I know, enginners haven't found (yet) a way to make a robot like a human being, they're still too rigid and weak on that issue (if you know what I mean
) mostly because the complex human balancing system; And this guys are claiming that her mannequin can 'walk'. If someone is willing to pay 50 thousand bucks to this guys (About 8-10 realdolls worth heheheh) he/she should consider donating to this community instead. I personally could take charge of this money and make myself sure is well invested ha ha ha ha ha!
