Wait, you can suggest songs in here?
Then it's time to contribute (instead of starting up photoshop and making some manips because I'm a lazy pleb)!

I guess Synthwave isn't the best type of music for Fallout 4, but hey, why not?

Carpenter Brut - Le Perv
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RYtVf0wvPpc

Scandroid - Neo Tokyo (Dance With The Dead Remix)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MkgR0SxmMKo

Dance With The Dead - Skeletons In The Attic
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DpA-QuGHMnI

Dance With The Dead - That House
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PN5YntoTFKw

Dance With The Dead - Andromeda
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q3lpoGABH6A

Dance With The Dead - Riot
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W_5unoZTpoQ

For a script, I guess something among the lines of "And now for some songs found on an old cassette which was retrieved from the glowing sea, simply known as "Synthwave"." could work. Probably. Maybe.

But of course. The only prerequisite is that you want to hear them in the next Radio K.I.M. collection. They can be of any genre. And you should suggest 4 more songs. And you should start up Photoshop too. ;)

Radio K.I.M. 6 is here, and ready for download.

This is the third and final collection of Swing and Jazz songs from the '30s, '40s and '50s.

Here's the XWM version for use in-game:

And here's the MP3 version for those who play on Xbone and PS4, or those who just want to download and listen to it:

Many thanks go out again to Kim Coquette for her awesome performance as the android DJ K.I.M. :applause:

There are also some spaces to fill for the all-request Radio K.I.M. 7, so if you'd like to hear your favourite songs on Radio K.I.M., let me know what they are!

Forgot to mention... I did some voice acting for this one too, so if you want to hear those parts, here they are.

Also, if those who are making requests for Radio K.I.M. 7 want to record request holotapes of their own, please do! I'll edit them in just like I did for Radio K.I.M. 5 and 6.

I've got a treat for everyone. This is going to be included in the upcoming Radio K.I.M. 7, and is a collaboration between Kim Coquette and Belle Loxely. Here is our android DJ K.I.M. interviewing another android Belle:

My thanks go out to Kim and Belle for the great performances in this! :applause:

And just to ask again, if anyone else has some songs they'd like to hear in Radio K.I.M. 7, please let me know.

Hey robotman... I'm back from my agitated life in university to ask you: how do you get the robot effect in their voices? Do you have a tutorial or anything? I'd be really grateful if you told me... :notworthy: thanks in advance

I use an audio editor called Cool Edit, which is now Adobe Audition. Kim's voice in Radio K.I.M. has had the following effect on it (after noise reduction and EQ):
Image
That's the Time/Stretch effect. The way I used it is to lower the pitch of Kim's voice by 2% while keeping the speed unchanged. Then I use the Mix Paste feature to combine that with the original waveform. The effect is to create an "out of phase" effect that has a synthetic kind of quality to it.

For Belle Loxely's voice, I used one of the Flanger effect presets:
Image

If you're using the free audio editor Audacity, you may be able to recreate these settings. I've never really used Audacity, so I don't know for sure.

Assuming I ever bother to work on modding again, I might try making a voiced follower for one of these Bethesda games using that trick. I think using a TTS program is pretty good for lack of an actual female to record, but this could help sell the effect a bit better as well.

There are a few more ways of making a "robotic" voice effect... I should put a real tutorial together showing how to do them and what they sound like.

Here's a little tutorial clip of how to make some of those robotic voice sound effects. I just realized I forgot to capture the mouse cursor, but you can see what's being selected. You can also pause the video on the effects screens to see what settings are being used.

The changes I made to the audio are Noise Reduction, EQ, Noise Reduction, and FFT filter. Then the robotic effects are two different Flanger effects, the combined Time/Stretch effect, an Echo effect, and a Distortion effect. Those can be tweaked and mixed, of course.

Last call for song requests for Radio K.I.M. 7.

We need at least two people to request at least 10 more songs each to make it to 50 songs. ;) See the original post for details.

Home sick today and have some time plus I just re-downloaded FO4 so this seems worthwhile. My tastes run a bit more mainstream than some so I hope that's ok.

1. The Body Electric - Rush ... This one seems practically made for Fallout synths escaping from the Institute.

2. Baba O'Riley - The Who ... (Teenage Wasteland amirite?)

3. Modern Day Cowboy - Tesla

4. Shoot to Thrill - AC/DC

5. Gimme Shelter - Rolling Stones ...self explanatory

6. Do It Again - The Kinks ...one more time around the wasteland

7. Fight The Good Fight - Triumph

8. Hallowed Be Thy Name - Iron Maiden

9. God of Thunder - KISS

10. Tornado of Souls - Megadeth

11. Orion - Metallica

I know it's probably kinda meh for most but I'd listen to this in the Wasteland.

How did you get access to my music collection? :P

Also, if you've heard Radio K.I.M. 5 and 6... Dave Mustaine will be pleased.

I will totally request Katamari on the Rock if we don't hit the quota, just so every time it comes on people can remember "Oh yeah, that's why it's playing this song."

Alright everybody, thanks very much for the song request submissions.

I have more than enough songs to work with now, so song requests are closed. (The mailbox outside Cabot House is now locked :P )

I'll start editing the audio and writing a script for Kim now. If anyone wants to add more written notes or comments about their song requests, it's not too late to do that. Also, if anyone still wants to record audio "holotapes" of them requesting their songs, please do!
