Changes in Membership Criteria
With membership increasing to over 950 it's time we took inventory. There may be some individuals who last visited over 6 months ago and have forgotten about the site completely, or there may be some who just popped in once to see what was here and don't plan on returning.
To thin out the "dead wood" we are adding 2 requirements for continued membership.
1. Working contact information (at the very least a working email address)
2. At least one message post per member.
The first is easy enough to correct. Just go to your "Profile" and make the necessary changes. For the second we will create a separate area on the message board for the "one-timers" to post a simple "Here I am" message.
Before these changes take effect each member will receive an email from the administrators reiterating what is mentioned here. One week after this mass email is sent memberships belonging to bounced messages will be deleted Also, any member that does not make a posting by March 1st will be deleted (a reminder will be sent at this time).
In short, here is the timeline......
Now - members should update their contact info with a working email address
February 11 - mass email will be sent out reminding members of the new requirements
February 18 - any memberships with false email addresses will be deleted
March 1 - any memberships with zero message posts will be deleted
If there are any questions please contact the FC staff by email at staff@fembotcentral.com, or post your question in this thread.

If you have a working email address associated with your membership and have already made a post then you're all set. The changes will not affect you.

It's probably a good idea to remind everybody again once you've done your mass mailings. That way, users who have spam filters can know to look out for the email and check their spam folder if they haven't recieved it. I know my spam folder filters out a lot of stuff, some of it legitimate mailings.

Grr. My yahoo email was deactivated. I reactivated it, but I'm posting anyway, just to be sure.

Email verification
Okay, I sent out a mass email tonight. Hope everyone gets it. Basically, all you have to do once you receive it is click "reply" and "send".
We will only delete memberships with addresses that we KNOW are bogus, so there's no reason to panic.
The next step will be to eliminate memberships with zero posts, but that won't be happening until March 1.
on with the show.....
