It's on Netflix right now. I saw it last night and there's actually a lot better stuff for the first half of the film.

As a lifelong PBS junkie, I first stumbled into the FutureStates films a few years back, and while I'm not sure "Play" is precisely on point (nor any of the other entries, for that matter) it really is a tour de force, and easily the most stunning entry in the series. Thanks for calling people's attention to it fnord.

"OutThere" looks like a basic film program to me, with a host who simply introduces and plays various movies that are considered "Out There." I saw clips from "Ghost in the Shell," for one, as well as from Peter Jackson's "Meet the Feebles."
