Screamers: The Hunting (2009) Dvd, Sci-Fi | Thriller

Post by fnord » Fri Jan 30, 2009 11:46 am

A group of humans from Earth who arrive on Sirius 6-B to investigate an SOS signal sent out from the planet, which has been supposedly deserted since the destruction of the man-made weapons known as "screamers." Once the squad arrives, they find a group of human survivors eking out an existence in an old military outpost, but more important, they discover that the threat of the screamers has become even more insidious, now that they're able to morph into human form.

This is actually the sequel to Screamers. The first one had a fembot right near the end, and this one probably also has several.

That's why this is here. Because it's a movie featuring a fembot. Seems pretty logical to me.

Some times I wounder why I bother to post (or why others don't post more) then I'm reminded of these small joys.

Trillian: Buttons aren't toys .---hitch hikers guide to the galaxy

Lunkwill: Do you...
Deep Thought: Have an answer for you? Yes. But you're not going to like it.
Fook: Please tell us. We must know!
Deep Thought: Okay. The answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe, and everything is...
[wild cheers from audience, then silence]
Deep Thought: 42. ---hitch hikers guide to the galaxy

Hey fnord,no offense intended but some here would like a simple rundown of what's being recommended. In this case, it's a full length online movie and one some here never heard of to boot.
Wasn't going to post my question above for fear of a negative response but I couldn't resist. Notions of freedom of speech wouldn't let me. :)

I think you might be pushin' it. Much can be simplified with a single posting containing some straight-forward descriptions of the ASFR relevant scenes in what ever link posted here thus giving the viewer the opportunity to decide whether or not to wade through an entire movie that may not be interesting otherwise. That is all.

Back in the early days I wasted many, many hours watching every grade b to grade z sci-fi video with even the slightest possibility of fembot content. There wasn't anybody else around to do it for me.

Now, this community has spoiled me. I don't put in the effort figuring someone else will find things and post info here.

I appreciate the post regarding the Screamers sequel, and also the Forbidden Science episode.

Why must Philip K Dick be so exploited? His corpse is probably spinning in his grave. His amphetamine-laced, acid-soaked grave.

...

Look on the bright side. "Galactic Pot Healer" will probably be an awesome movie, provided you're good and loaded.

I've done many of the same things as far as the sorting of ASFR material is concerned, looong before I sat before a computer and keyed in the words female robot or fembot and stumbled upon this community way back in the mid 90's. I've mailed and thrown away stuff long before online trading/downloading became possible. So I've been down with this for as long as any in this community and for the above reasons I still say what the hell is it to do more than to just post a link. :? We've had this discussion before time and again and many key members here seem to waver back and forth on this "issue". Much respect to any who might see things from the above p o v
as expressed and much stronger than a boot to the head to those who don't. :x

It's probably not so much that you asked, but the manner of your asking. If Fnord wasn't familiar with the previous discussions on the matter, a polite suggestion to identify the ASFR content of the posted links would more than likely have produced exactly what you wanted.

Not much gynoid content in this movie, except for 1 screamer gynoid looking like an old witch that got rammed by a truck. She's defivitively not my type.

Well, there's pretty faces in there wearing futuristic uniforms, so it might be a turn on for some of us.

The story plot sucks big time, the acting quality is under par, but the special effects are good enough. Not bad for a B movie.

Re-rehasing a prior post. There is one mechanical woman: some kind of hybrid human/screamer, so it's kind of blood-and-guts with metal bits sticking out. The scene is poorly lit, and "she" is so gross-looking that even identifying gender is almost impossible. I agree she looks "like an old witch that got rammed by a truck." On-screen time is maybe 60 seconds.

I picked it up at Big Lots (a store that sometimes sells close-out merchandise from other stores) for $3. I'm bumping this thread because apparently Screamers: The Hunting is making the close-out DVD circuit, so if you find it, just put it down.

The female actors (2 on the spaceship crew, and one on the planet) are reasonably attractive. Although none get naked, there is the requisite hibernation-pod scenes, and they don't die for quite some time. The film also appears to have a little bit of care put into it, so the special effects are reasonably okay. The plot is a low-grade rehash of the Screamers plot with lots of running around, but little sense.
May your deeds return to you tenfold,

--- Jason Olshefsky
