Pluton BRB Nero Translations

Post by tinyspider » Thu Oct 30, 2008 12:58 am

Here's a translation of the "reboot" scenes from Episode 2 "Tortugas en la Barriga" (Turtles in the Belly).
Keep in mind this is not a literal translation, I re-wrote some of the dialogues in order to make Spanish puns make sense in English.

First Scene:
Wollensky: Ok, this seems to be working (shock), ohhh your eyebrow!... no problem I can paint it with a marker
Lorna: Leave it like that ok?, well, now you have to reboot me... as soon as you turn me on you have to put me in front of the white balance, ok?...(pointing) that's the white balance!
W: what for?
L: Ok, whenever I speak to you, hit your "save" button because you never remember
W: It's just that I can't handle that much information
L: Ok, the first image I'm going to see will serve as a reference to adjust all my systems... do you understand how important is this?
W: Totally, this can't fail, besides, we're alone
L: That's what scares me
W: Ok, ready?
L: Do it already!
W: Sorry...
(lorna gets turned off)
Querejeta: What's this?... what was I about to say?, I can't remember
L (to Querejeta): Hello, what's your name?
Q: Who, me?, Querejeta... (to Wollensky) what's going on with her?
L: I want to know everything about you
W: I fucked* it up... I fucked it up!
L: (to Querejeta) You big stallion!
Q: She's acting weird, isn't she?
L: Tell me everything, I want to know every inch of your body
Q: What are you doing?, I have a lot of work to do!
W: Goddaaaaaaamn!

* The literal translation of "joder" is "to fuck", and as it happens with English, it may also mean "to screw/ruin", this is precisely what he's implying in this sentence, but is a bit confusing to translate because he says "La he jodido" which can mean "I fucked her up" or "I fucked it up".
"joder", though somewhat of a dirty word is not as "politically incorrect" to use in Spanish as it is in English. I apologize in advance if somebody find this offensive

*****************************
Here's the second reboot sequence, it's almost the same as the first one:
Wollensky: Ok, this seems to be working... your eyebrow!... no problem I can paint it with a marker
Lorna: Dont't worry about that, now you have to reboot me... as soon as you turn me on...
W: I have to put you in front of the white balance... wait that was what you said... we're back*!... I have a second chance!
L: A second chance to do what?
W: I can't tell you that... you just trust me
L: Ok, the first image I'm going to see will serve as a reference to adjust all my systems... do you understand how important is this Wollensky?
W: Crystal clear, ok, are you ready?
L: Yes, I'm ready
W: Sorry...
(lorna gets turned off)
W: Dear God, I don't believe in you because we androids do not go to church, but I want to tell you wherever you are, give me a hand, please God, or whatever, help me! I just want to be happy!
(lorna gets turned on)
W: What happened!!
Hoffman: Nothing, a blackout, the system was overcharged
Captain: What's going on here?
H: Somebody turned on the printer
C: You can't turn everything on at the same time, how many times do I have to say it?, the fuses will blow!
Querejeta: It was me sir, I wa... Since we travelled back in time there's a lot of work I need to do
W: And at this precise moment!... Lorna, my love are you still here?
L: Yes Wollensky I'm here!
W: Baby, do you love me?... no?, damn!, she's like always
(this happens offscreen)
C: Somebody turn the lights on!
W: I'll never let that happen!
C: Hoffman,is that you?, give me that phone!
******************************
On a side note, when Lorna gets damaged she was arguing with Wollensky. He was jealous because the captain uses her for purposes "different of those stated in the mission and her program", she says her physical appearance is just "ornaments", but Wollensky insists that she's a teaser.

To movie collectors, if you want to see more of the director's work (Alex de la Iglesia) I highly recommend this movie:

"El Día de la Bestia" (The Day of the Beast) is literally one hell of a horror/dark comedy and in my humble opinion, one of the best examples of spanish cinema. Keep in mind is not ASFR related.

Thank you very much for the translations, Araenae. Also, I'm glad that the Spanish aren't afraid of having fun with the sexual ideas of having a fembot! I hope this inspires more people in Latin countries to think about how great it would be to have them!

We're still doing babysteps on that subject, but mainstream media seems to be moving in the right direction; believe it or not I found this today on TV:

Ciclon it's just another crappy, liver cancer inducing energy drink, I hate those kind of concoctions but I loved this ad... can you guess why?
