The M3GAN spinoff SOULM8TE has been delayed indefinitely since January 2026 because test screenings apparently fell flat as hard as M3GAN 2.0 did. But I thought I'd let you have some good news:
The movie just got an MPAA rating. That's something you don't do unless you've got the final movie ready in the can to ship. Blumhouse passed and Universal passed on the movie because something about it felt iffy after M3GAN 2.0 tanked, but it looks like someone else is willing to take the risk and at least push it out to streaming where the added cost of failure will be less painful than booking cinema halls that don't get filled.
The movie is rated R by the MPAA - that means it's going to go really hard into the ASFR angle possibly, unlike both M3GAN films. This could either be good news for us, or terrible news - all the ASFR in the world isn't going to save a movie if it's bad enough on other angles.
